Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted April 21, 2013 Administrators Posted April 21, 2013 From Red Letter Christians - Guns, Sex and the Total Depravity of Everyone Else Well worth the read... Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

BobRyan Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Quote: If I were a non-Christian looking from the outside in, I don’t think it would be unreasonable to think that American Christians’ two highest priorities right now are keeping the government from taking away our guns and stopping gay people from getting married. And I don’t think it would be too far-fetched to assume that Jesus sure must love guns and hate sex Good thing they were not writing in the 1800's saying "If I were a non-Christians I would think that Christians two highest priorities were to stop the south from having a good economy and using slave labor, and stopping Americans from the right to privacy - drinking alcohol. I don't think it would be too far fetched to assume Jesus was must love taking people's rights away". A left wing view can be had "of any and everything" as it turns out. Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." COL 316.

A little ironic isn't it.Here we go again with "one camp" JUDGING others. On the other hand it always has to be done in a slightly dishonest manner. The gay marriage issue is not about sex. Plenty of that for straight and gays around. It is about redefining marriage which is so much more than sex. Maybe not to some of you but a lasting marriage is built on far more than that. Guns are a amendment issue as much any other reason. Changing the constitution is what a large number is against. But it does help the left to minimize the reasons to the lowest they can so they can once again appear ever so righteous and "tolerant" Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman

CoAspen Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Quote: ames 2:12-13 says, “Speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty. For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” That last sentence is the whole gospel summarized in four words. When God’s mercy is able to crush all the sneaky tactics we use to self-justify and make ourselves judges, that’s when we have been saved. People who have been smitten by God’s mercy aren’t oblivious to the reality of sin; they just don’t need to talk about it all the time. They’ve been set free of the need to justify themselves by parading their vigilance against the total depravity of everyone else. Hmmm, most interesting! Quote
