There is no justification for what took place at Wounded Knee but I don't believe that took place in a school where the soldiers stormed a school house and committed the shootings. Regardless are you saying Sandy Hook is payback for that act or acts committed during that time? Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Not specifically but you know the Bible says we reap what we sow and he that lives by the sword will die by the sword. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. bonnie Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Not specifically but you know the Bible says we reap what we sow and he that lives by the sword will die by the sword. Then could we assume that the Indians that were horribly slaughtered at Wounded Knee were reaping what they had sown for centuries before the settlers came? They pretty much lived by "to the victors go the spoils ,might makes right etc" The Bible Says Sandy Hook was not "those that live by the sword, die by the sword. These were innocent children butchered by a deranged? mind. Why not innocents butchered by the deranged as you say below. Only God knows. Quote: Sandy Hook was not "those that live by the sword, die by the sword. These were innocent children butchered by a deranged? mind. Moderators lazarus Posted April 22, 2013 Moderators Posted April 22, 2013 I don't believe Sandy Hook was the result ofanyone living by the sword. Of course you wouldn't, it does not compute in your world but of course it's a possibility with the Americans. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. bonnie Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Of course you wouldn't, it does not compute in your world but of course it's a possibility with the Americans. Your right,of course I wouldn't,unless your reasoning held true for all those that lived by the sword could expect what they got. I don't think that holds true for one group more than any other. A honest man that believed America got what it deserved in Sandy Hook because of situations like Wounded Knee, he would also have to believe that those at Wounded Knee got what they deserved for decades old violence against others. I didn't deny that the massacre at wounded knee was reaping and sowing but you refuse to accept it for Sandy Hook. You have no way of knowing. So those at Wounded Knee got just what they should have expected for their actions towards one another prior to the settlers? Know,I don't KNOW.I said I don't believe that for actions taken at Wounded Knee, the Sandy Hook slaughter was expected consequence for wounded knee. And living in Britain most of your life gives what manner of superior knowing? Or are you just in agreement with certain revisionist histories peddled about to exaggerate only certain facets of the US/American Indian relationship? Being part American Indian myself, I do carry that history and legacy with me.... Blessings, Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. Ted Oplinger Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Yes, Laz, I have been privy to a good many Europeans coming over here and saying how things are run so poorly here. When I make mention that Europe's aristocracy penchant has changed little, if at all, over the last 150 years, adopting socialism as its panacea for keeping the lower classes numbed to the real issues of their countries - issues they themselves moved away from their home countries to come to the US for a better life...they realize the foolishness of their argument. And "Yes" also in regard to my Indian heritage as well. Moderators lazarus Posted April 28, 2013 Moderators Posted April 28, 2013 Yes, Laz, I have been privy to a good many Europeans coming over here and saying how things are run so poorly here. My comments about the US have been hardly about how things are "run". Americans themselves spend a lot of time talking about how poorly things are run, particularly the right. This whole section of the forum is dedicated to that. Quote: When I make mention that Europe's aristocracy penchant has changed little, if at all, over the last 150 years, adopting socialism as its panacea for keeping the lower classes numbed to the real issues of their countries - issues they themselves moved away from their home countries to come to the US for a better life...they realize the foolishness of their argument. Wow you have some incredible powers of persuasion. Where do you get these grand narratives about European and UK life? How much time have you spent in Europe?
