March of the Penguins

Have you seen this film? It's apparently new. It has a "G" rating, is a documentary on the habits of penguins in their family groups.

A friend has raved about this movie, saying it is not to be missed. And don't, repeat don't, wait till it comes out on DVD before you see it.

... so my sis and I are heading out to do just that, tonight.

This film is POWERFUL. It's a documentary, following a flock of penguins over their life cycle of more than a year. Filmed in Antarctica, at sometimes -80 degree blizzards, the photography is amazing.

It should be seen on the big screen. The scenery is spectacular.

This film is breaking attendance records in Southern California for a documentary film. Highest grossing film over two weekends now, I think.

The neat thing about this film is that it portrays the importance of the father's role in child-rearing (for penguins, at least).

What amazed me is that they are out in the open in -80º F with 100 mph winds. That is an Antartic huricane!
