Members phkrause Posted April 26, 2013 Members Posted April 26, 2013 Unfortunately no. I was still a child in Germany, probably 2 years old or so. But I do have a picture, which is down in Florida. So the next time I go down I will see if I can find it, than scan it and than post it. :) Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Ted Oplinger Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Likewise, no photo to upload. She was a big...make that HUGE...20 lb grey tabby by the name of 'Taffy'. Very gentle cat - would allow both my sister and I to use her as a pillow at times. She made an excellent guard cat as well... Blessings, Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. cricket Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 No photo here either. Minnie was an orange/white tabby. She loved the outdoors and would knock on my bedroom window when she was ready to come in for the night. Best cat ever. Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted April 27, 2013 Members Posted April 27, 2013 My first pet was Penny, a blond Cocker Spaniel that my grandparents bought for my mom before I was even a twinkle in my parents' eyes. My folks had seen the puppies in a petshop, and my mom had really wanted one....but they were $20 - a very lot of money back in those days, and my folks couldn't afford it. So my dad told his folks about the puppies, and they went and bought one. Then they called my dad at home and told him what they'd done, and to bring my mom over to their house. So, dad got mom to drive over there. When they came in the door, my dad asked, "where is it?" Grandpa said, "In the living room behind the couch." My mom was thinking, "where's what? and what would be behind the couch?" So they took her in there and my mom looked behind the couch, and there was this little puppy back in the corner. Dad and Grandpa pulled the couch away from the wall, and mom picked up Penny. And Penny was with our family from then on, when my brother was born, and when I was born, and he lived to be over 17 yrs old. Sweet puppy. Here's my dad holding Penny when he was about 5 months old.. I thought the photo was taken out in the woods, but my mom says it was their backyard in Seattle the winter before my brother was born. Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted April 27, 2013 Administrators Posted April 27, 2013 Not sure this is the first, but these are among the earliest dogs in my life. I don't remember ever being without dogs, cats and many other assorted animals around when I was growing up. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted April 27, 2013 Administrators Posted April 27, 2013 And then there is this picture of another litter... Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted April 27, 2013 Administrators Posted April 27, 2013 I think the second photo is the earliest. My brothers and I appear to be younger. We raised dogs in those days - collies. Many of our old family photos had dogs and cats in them. Sorry about the size... Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." Members phkrause Posted April 27, 2013 Members Posted April 27, 2013 In the first picture I'd say the one in the middle with the bow tie :) Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted April 27, 2013 Administrators Posted April 27, 2013 You are correct. I am the youngest of 4 brothers. We also have a sister, younger than me. She was not born yet. In the second picture, my dad is next to me and the man with the camera is an an uncle. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."
