Randy Singer, THE JUDGE WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS. Tyndale House, 2005 & 2010, 263 pages.

Randy Singer is an accomplished novelist who has written more than 10 novels--works of fiction and three nonfiction works.

All of his publications are intended to present some foundational aspect of Christianity.

He is a trial attorney who has headed up the litigation division of a 60 attorney firm.

He is also a pastor of a 700+ member congregation.

The book listed above is fiction. It does not represent any specific city, individual or case. Mr. Singer has attempted in this book to stay accurate to the issues and the law, both case law and the statute.

I recommend its reading. Why?

1) For a view of a trial attorney of the legal issues involved with this 1st Ammendment issue. Tom, if he wishes can comment on this.

2) The story is told from the perspective of an accomploished storyteller--novelist. It has suspense, twists and turns.

If I were to criticize it, I would do so from the perspective that he introduces complete chapters that diverge from the legal issues and simply tell a human story that appears to have no relationship to the underlying legal theme. NOTE: Everyone of these side journieys is eneded with a twist that is a part of a central theme. One cannot turn to the ending chapters and understand this twist unless one has read the book from the beginning. Some of the twists are unexpected and unforseen.

For your spiritual enrichment, check out his website and the book that I have listed.
