Ted Oplinger Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Oh yes, Gerry - God does have a sense of humor - He created me.... Blessings, Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. Waggoner, The Glad Tidings "Courage is being scared to death - and saddling up anyway" - John Wayne "The person who pays an ounce of principle for a pound of popularity gets badly cheated" - Ronald Reagan
Gibs Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Oh yes, and when Adam was naming all the creatures and saw he had no mate, well God laid him down took out a rib and made him a woman. Wow! Heh, heh! Now we can read what Paul says of woman, 1 Cor 11:, quite a read! 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. JoeMo Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Gibs, Quote: Now we can read what Paul says of woman, 1 Cor 11 God had a sense of humor when he created you. I think Jesus showed His sense of humor after His resurrection when He just "popped in" on the disciples saying "Peace be with you!" He probably had a good chuckle watching them jump out of their skin. He probably had a lot of people chuckling when the Pharisees or Saducees would ask Him trick questions; and He would make them look like idiots. Quote
Ted Oplinger Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 All kidding aside, I tend to think that humor is also a gift from God - to help us get through this world. There is so much in life that strikes the funny bone. I also think there will be much humor after the sin issue is no more. Humor then, though, won't be vulgar, or at the expense of someone else, like so much of what passes for humor is today. joeb Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Does God have a sense of humor? Absolutely. Look around at His creation. Some of the creatures He created had to come from a sense of humor. Plus, humor is such an integral part of being human it has to have come from God for God said "let us make man in our image". Moderators Kevin H Posted May 1, 2013 Moderators Posted May 1, 2013 Ever read the story about the birth of Samson? God ordained the mother to give all the information, the father wanted the angel of God to talk to him. The message was to listen to his wife, then they offered a sacrifice and the angel went up into the air in the smoke of the sacrifice. Quote
