Tsarnaev Family Received $100G in Benefits Monday, April 29, 2013 Chris Cassidy The Tsarnaev family, including the suspected terrorists and their parents, benefited from more than $100,000 in taxpayer-funded assistance — a bonanza ranging from cash and food stamps to Section 8 housing from 2002 to 2012, the Herald has learned. “The breadth of the benefits the family was receiving was stunning,” said a person with knowledge of documents handed over to a legislative committee today. The state has handed over more than 500 documents to the 11-member House Post Audit and Oversight Committee, which today met for the first time and plans to call in officials from the Department of Transitional Assistance to testify. “I can assure members of the public that this committee will actively review every single piece of information we can find because clearly the public has a substantial right to know what benefits, if any, this family or individuals accused of some horrific crimes were receiving,” said state Rep. David Linsky (D-Natick), the committee’s chairman. Linsky’s committee has requested documents from the DTA, the state’s Medicaid director and Health and Human Services Secretary John Polanowicz. But so far the committee has not released the records publicly, citing a privilege the DTA is asserting under state law. Transitional assistance officials also told the Herald tonight that the agency was conducting its own investigation into whether Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s family ever notified the DTA about his extended trip to Russia, and has since expanded its probe to include a full history of the benefits received by the entire Tsarnaev family. America opened her arms and her wallet to this family coming in under "political asylum"...and we get 2 boys who think it's a "statement" to repay that generosity by murdering 3, injuring/maiming nearly 200 more - and a mother shouting "Allahu Ackbar!" and scolding us for not giving more. Saw a judge on a FOX news vid clip yesterday that enunciated what I am beginning to feel about these types of people - my sympathies with this "religion of peace" are rapidly dwindling... If they had received it all at once that is a bonanza, but over ten years equals to roughly $833 a month. Plus I thought the parents lived in Russia, or one of the border countries there? How were they receiving benefits? One last point, "someone" said that the "breadth of the benefits the family was receiving was stunning"--why was it "stunning"? I'm not understanding this article, it seems that they are upset that perhaps the government was lavishly applying them with money that they didn't qualify for. How long,regardless of their religious views can we keep allowing those to immigrate that we need to support? And if they were only receiving 833.00 a month how do you afford a trip to Russia.When my son went it was a very expensive flight. My next door neighbor is a investigator for the medicaid fraud division of Hennepin county in MN.She deals with the illegal immigrant fraud The fraud is massive and cannot be controlled.Almost everyone she investigates is reported. To put a stop to it,prosecute or at least require payback of the ill gotten help is almost impossible. Layers upon layers of lies.It is like peeling a onion. Just when you think you are getting somewhere the guilty pop up in another area.In the meantime the children need to be fed and cared for. Those she investigates are not even supposed to be collecting benefits and as long as the government sponsers these people you would suggest WHAT? So there shouldn't be a problem!!! You and I see the problem differently. A. My neighbor lost his job,applied for all the benefits he could possibly get and sat in his lawn chair during the summer,drinking beer and smoking.He just couldn't find a job anywhere.He could afford his amusements but could not feed his children.When his wife gave him a choice,find a job or get out,he quit abusing the system and took care of his own family. There isn't any way to stop that because it is encouraged,but to me that is abuse B> Unmarried young mother,has been on welfare for over five years,waiting for the right job to hunt her down and find her Her mother tried to turn over a very well paying house cleaning service to her so she could support herself and child.Well,you know that isn't quite what she had in mind,thanks but I will wait.In the meantime the taxpayer is her sole support.To me that is abuse. Pile that on top of those that are legally abusing and go ahead and try to prove it. Another neighbor on SS.Refuses to purchase supplemental insurance because he is entitled to care.His prescriptions are paid for by the cty. He can do this because assests don't count.His boat,motor,golf cart,2-52 inch flat screen TV's,motor home and other toys are not considered as he fleeces the other taxpayers.Yes,while I didn't report them I checked to see what someone would be allowed.
