Members phkrause Posted May 9, 2013 Author Members Posted May 9, 2013 I read an article about a family that invited a senator over for dinner. Could care less as to who the huffington post is or for that matter the very unbiased foxnews! joeb Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Yeah, an emotional piece like this just happens to gloss over the idea that gun control legislation won't stop people who are intent on breaking laws far more serious than gun control laws from breaking the gun control laws, if they are passed. Ask yourself, pkrause, which of the following would be more a deterrent to you. 1. Laws against murder when you're intent on committing murder. 2. Laws against buying a certain style of gun when you want to commit murder. Do you really think #2 will stop you when your objective is #1? Members phkrause Posted May 9, 2013 Author Members Posted May 9, 2013 I believe there are laws against murder! Not only in this country but pretty much all countries. And there are the Ten Commandments. I'm not interested in murdering anyone, so can't put myself in that position. Besides did I say somewhere that I was for or against gun control? As far as I'm concerned there has to be a middle ground here somewhere. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.
