Markb Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 I wanted to announce that the Calbayog Sanitarium and Hospital website is now officially open. This was a personal ministry project of mine and I hope that some of you can take the time to visit, and even make a small donation to this small, but very important hospital in the Philippines. The Calbayog Sanitarium & Hospital is located in Calbayog on the island of Samar and is among the fifth largest city in the Philippines [map here]. The hospital is an affiliate of the Adventist Health Care System/Asia and was started back in 1973 by Dr. Orville Varona who visited a number of the islands using a small boat healing people. Today, the hospital has grown to over 15 beds and plays a vital role in the surrounding communities. However, being that they are among the smallest of our Adventist hospitals in the chain of supply in the Philippines, they often never see any donations, or the donations are handouts that often will not work anyway. Their x-ray machine is over 30 years old plus much of their other equipment is in frequent repair or rented.
