Is it actually possible________

__________for one using the Word as a guide, to know anything?

1, Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”—Genesis 3:22 NASB

God said it, I didn't.

2. "Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” And he said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?”"Genesis 4:9 NASB

And Cain lied. Typical for those today who wish to avoid personal responsibility.

3. "It came about when he came near to Egypt, that he said to Sarai his wife, “See now, I know that you are a beautiful woman;"Genesis 12:11 NASB

Some men will tell the truth when they think it will help keep them out of trouble!

4. "Then Moses was afraid and said, “Surely the matter has become known."”Exodus 2:14 NASB

Sometimes men will admit someone else knows, when forced to.

5. "I will claim you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God who has freed you from your oppression in Egypt." Exodus 6:7 NLT

Sometimes things happen that are so exceptionally spectacular one looks foolish to suggest they don't know.

6. "The Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch out My hand on Egypt and bring out the sons of Israel from their midst." Exodus 7:5 NASB

And then again so spectacular that even our enemies can't help but admit they know

7. "But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,"Matthew 6:3 NASB

Sometimes it is best to admit one doesn't know.

8. "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!"Matthew 7:11 NASB

Sometimes what keeps us from knowing, is a failure to admit we know that when God speaks of the evil, He's actually addressing us.

9. "So then, you will know them by their fruits."Matthew 7:20 NASB

Sometimes our excuse for not knowing is the fruit is too much to our liking.

10. "And He said, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is in parables, so that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand." Luke 8:10 NASB

Maybe it's wise to admit the reason we don't know is a result of not asking for spiritual eyesight.

11. "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

John 13:35 NASB

Seems like if we know this it would be automatic to know who isn't a disciple of the God Who is Love.

12. "So I want you to know that this salvation from God has also been offered to the Gentiles, and they will accept it."Acts 28:28 NLT

Seems like this ought to speak clearly that no one is excluded except he/she who wishes not to be accepted or included on Jesus' terms.

If you're interested in finding out of the Word is a reliable source of knowledge, might it be less… circular... to evaluate it's reliability using something other than simple assertions from the very book you're asking about?

Sorry you don't find the One Who created the world and all there is in it as a reliable source of information. I'm sure you have your reasons. When you can give a good reason that Jesus is on the lips of multiplied millions, in songs of hope and assurance, more than any other person in the history of mankind, perhaps you'll gain a following that might appear to have some validity. Most that make the effort along those lines usually end up something like the followers of Jim Jones.

This article is about the Peoples Temple leader.

James Warren "Jim" Jones (May 13, 1931 – November 18, 1978) was the founder and the leader of the Peoples Temple, best known for the cult murder/suicide in 1978, 909 of its members in Jonestown, Guyana, and the murder of five individuals at a nearby airstrip. Over 200 children were murdered at Jonestown, almost all of them by cyanide poisoning.[3] Jones died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Jones was born in Indiana and started the Temple there in the 1950s. He later moved the Temple to California in the mid-1960s, and gained notoriety with the move of the Temple's headquarters to San Francisco in the early 1970s.

The incident in Guyana ranks among the largest mass suicides in history, though most likely it involved forced suicide and/or murder, and was the single greatest loss of American civilian life in a non-natural disaster until the events of September 11, 2001. Among the dead was Leo Ryan, who remains the only member of Congress killed in the line of duty in U.S. history.
