Shouldering Responsibility

Marty Epstein was working long hours at the office and his wife Shirley complained that he wasn’t spending enough time with their three-year-old daughter Shirah. So Marty decided to take little Shirah to the shopping mall, and even gave her a ride on his shoulders.

But after a few minutes, Shirah started tugging at his hair.

"Stop that, honey," Marty said. "It hurts."

"But daddy," she replied, "I'm only trying to get my gum back."
