Bush raises option of using force against Iran

President Bush said on Israeli television he could consider using force as a last resort to press Iran to give up its nuclear programme.

"All options are on the table," Bush, speaking at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, said in the interview broadcast on Saturday.

Asked if that included the use of force, Bush replied: "As I say, all options are on the table. The use of force is the last option for any president and you know, we've used force in the recent past to secure our country."

The U.S. military is not presently resourced to add Iran to the other places where it is conducting combat operations.

If President Bush thinks it is, that thought demonstrated his lack of understanding of military affairs, and combat operations.

I can assure you that when I went into combat, I learned a lot about the paractical realities of doing so. I do not think that President Bush has a real understanding of what it means to conduct combat operations in multiple areas.

I believe the military action being considered in Iran is surgical strikes - not a manned invasion. If an invasion were required, I don't know why it would be, the US would obviously have to have more of its allied forces helping than did in Iraq.

I guess Canada and Mexico don't matter this time since neither is on the UN Security Council. Members include: Argentina, Algeria, Benin, Brazil, China, Denmark, France, Greece, Japan, Russia, UK, Tanzania, US, Philippines and Romania.

However since Canada has some nice fighter jets, they could always escourt a few of our bombers if we have to do some surgical stikes. That might make the queen proad. <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
