A coworker of mine, last Friday, shared with me that she had been studying Psalm 16. She decided to read it in her French bible.

She told me that it talks about "partying in your heart," using the word fêter, which definitely means to party, or to celebrate.

The Psalm is about God's protection for us and because of that the Psalmist rests securely in trusting in that protection. And in this version, the Bible au courant (in everyday language), the words are expressed in more than mere joy.

"C'est pourquoi j'ai le coeur plein de joie, j'ai l'âme en fête. Je suis en parfaite sécurité"

Translation- That's why I have a heart full of joy; I have a "partying (or celebrating) soul". I am in perfect safety.

Interesting!

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
