Hi, I hope to present two threads for each focus point. One thread will be to set forth documents and information. The other thread will be open for discussion. Stan is helping me figure out how to do this... patience...

Plan change: Now that I try to work with this, I will post an article at the beginning of the thread and then allow for discussions as reply after that.

Compare the complexity of the SDA church as it is now with the early days. The delegates represent a handful of states. I recognize half of the delegates by name. J.N. Andrews, Loughborough, James White, Joseph Bates, J.H. Waggoner, etc.

Ellen White is not a delegate. The transcripts do not show her speaking to those gathered.

Most of the delegates are ministers. Only two are lay delegates.

Within a few years, the Iowa delegates, B. F. Snook and W. H. Brinkerhof, left the church and published "The Visions of E. G. White, Not of God." Cedar Rapids, Iowa: Cedar Valley Times and Book and Job Print, 1866. see B. F. Snook and W. H. Brinkerhof. "...ob Print, 1866.

Uriah Smith responded with editorials in the church paper between June 12 and July 31, 1866, and dealt with thirty-nine objections.
