Dry Or Wet?

I know Sister White favored prohibition so much she said we should vote on Sabbath for it if we had to. However I am a bit torn. We live in a different world today. There are so many greater dangers, like illegal drugs, and there are more protections for women and children as well as more treatment centers for alcoholics.

Well the prohibtion is still very much an issue in many southern states in the US.

Littlefield voters went to the polls to decide if they wanted alcohol to be sold within the city. Something the First Baptist Church Pastor, Joe Steward could not swallow. "Just the availability of that, we believe raises crime, creates more dependence on alcohol and those kind of things. And so we just believe it's better for our community."

The idea failed by only 27 votes.
