Overaged Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 I Can Hardly Believe That "A few years ago" I bought a 1971 Maverick 2 door. It was one of the ugliest colors of green I have ever seen in a car. I paid $45.00 for the old rattle-trap, and it was so rusty, that when I drove it down the road during a thunderstorm; great waves of water came whooshing up from the floor, drenching my face & hair, well, actually, there was no floor on the driver's side. It was rusted out. After that first storm experience; I decided to "fix" the stupid thing, and I plugged er up with 2X10 pressure treated lumber and construction adhesive - you know, the kind they use for framing houses when they do the sub floor. I figured "maverick floors" would be pretty similar. It actually worked really well. My "Flintstone Car" was now a "normal" car! However; the day after I fixed the floor; the transmission fell apart just as I was stopping at a red light. I can hardly believe that I actually bought a car for $45.00, and drove it for 3 full weeks!! Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." Overaged Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 I can hardly believe that I am still using, (after 2 years) this little old Pentium ® 4 CPU, 2.40 GHz, with 760 MB of RAM, for everything I do on the internet; and I can hardly believe that I got this old beater from a Very Special Dumpster (see post #404466 - Sun Oct 24 2010) And I can do downloads of almost 1 MB per second with this thing!! Surely, God knows how to bless a lot with so little!! When I found this computer in the dumpster; it had obviously been tossed roughly in there, the lid was popped open, and a few parts missing. After a little constuction aghesive to hold the hard drive in place, and a little bit of "3 In 1" oil on the fan bearing so that it did not sound like a plane taking off; I have been using it ever since!
