Kakopedi Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 May I ask a simple question? Didn't know where to go. I hope I'm not in the wrong forum. I have a friend who has been an SDA for over 20 years and I just found out that he won't kill any bugs because it's against his religion. As you may have guessed, I am not an SDA. Is it true that killing cockroaches, flies and spiders is against the teachings of the SDA church? Quote

Kakopedi Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 Well somebody better tell your preachers here in Australia because they are teaching it's a sin to kill bugs. Quote

It all depends upon if the cockroaches, flies and spiders have been baptized into the SDA church or not. Quote

Those Australians are different than the rest of the world. But let them be. Pay them no mind. If they want to preach that - I would just let them have their peace. He is absolutely correct. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted February 19, 2012 Administrators Posted February 19, 2012 It's only a sin if you kill them and eat them, cause they are unclean critters.... Now if you kill grasshoppers, which are clean, and don't eat them its a sin of wastefulness... Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. Woody Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 In the books of Heaven - there's a special catagory for those whom choose to kill those buggy critters. For each bug you kill - you will be required to burn in Hell an additional hour. note* for full disclosure - I watch Fox News and any or all of this information might have been obtained from said "news" channel. Kakopedi Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 Not funny for his poor non-adventist mother who has coccaroaches crawling past her bed head and he won't kill them because it's agains his religion. Quote
Woody Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Yeah. Well - I can top that: Just read a few posts here on the forum and you will find all kinds of weird beliefs of Adventists. One "SDA" doesn't believe in all of the Bible - he only accepts certain portions that fit his fancy. Believe it or not - some SDAs actually have mental illnesses. Come on - Get real. And I don't know how it is down under - but here in the States - the Mother is not run by the son. Here ... the mother is free to worship and/or to kill cochroaches or whatever kind or crawlie creachers she might feel up to. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Dr. Rich Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 It appears that you have Seventh day Adventists mixed up with religions that believe in reincarnation, that the next life you live will be as a bug. Quote
