Woody Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 The case of Girouard v. United States, 328 U.S. 61. (The case that would have barred a Seventh-day Adventist from being naturalized as a U.S. citizen if he refused to take up military arms during wartime despite being willing to serve as a conscientious objector.) This case was overseen by Supreme Court Justice Harlan Stone. Justice Stone was in favor of having the SDA banned from being a citizen. But during the proceedings - Justice Stone had a stroke and feel dead. Some say it was the hand of God. But he was the only Supreme Court Justice that fell dead during open court session. I apologize if this belongs in US politics or religion or any other forum. I would hate to violate the rules. Stan - please move this if I am in any violation. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
