But I thought it was funnier to say, "Please excuse my dead Aunt Sally." Then, in the same year I learned, "Karen, Please come over for gruel, Sunday." But, later learned a different one for the same thing that made me laugh because it meant that the teacher had to have made the first one up because the second one was not appropriate to teach to 9th grade biology students. Never even heard of the one you mentioned, Stan. Quote

A genuine Red Indian doesn't eat tobacco; they might chew it but they never eat it, whether in church or out of it. lol But I suppose it's really important to say "eat" in this instance. The teacher had recommended it for 'further study'. almost casually at the end of his lecture... I recognized several chapter tests exactly as he had given them...so for the next chapter I made the ten answers into a number 1,211,221,211. The number 1 stood for True and 2 stood for False. I memorized the number. As soon as he said "Take out pencil and paper". I wrote the number in the right-hand corner. Then wrote the True False answers..............I never did look at the questions..but I got 100% correct from that day on.... Nuff sed Quote

I learned how to spell the old fashioned way: Lots of spelling tests; also reading and paying attention to how good writers wrote and spelled. It helped that my father was an English teacher and my mother a teacher of reading and phonics.
