Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted September 1, 2011 Members Posted September 1, 2011 Usa is a town in Japan... (general interest) Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Moderators Nan Posted September 2, 2011 Moderators Posted September 2, 2011 There does seem an increasing demand for governments to spend more on their own poor rather than perceived overseas needs... Quote
Members phkrause Posted September 2, 2011 Members Posted September 2, 2011 We certainly love spending money invading and than for some reason rebuilding other countries, but when it comes to our own we all of a sudden have no money. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Moderators Bravus Posted September 2, 2011 Author Moderators Posted September 2, 2011 I'd kinda hope governments could spend money on humanitarian and job creation programs both at home and abroad and spend less on killing-people machinery, but I guess that's a forlorn hope. "We helped a lot of people" seems less chest-beatingly politically valuable than "we killed a lot of people". Quote Truth is important

teresaq Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I think we might need to look a w e e bit closer to home, meaning ourselves... There was a program on the History channel I have watched a couple of times on our infrastructure which is slowly but surely crumbling. It isn't done because we vote no on more taxes--and we vote the people into office who are there now... Perhaps not popular thinking...but could it be true? Perhaps we are to blame...not "them".
