The trick is to say "might" like an American in California does it. I'm not actually sure how it's pronounced elsewhere but here we say, "mighnt". I hear some difference between their accent and the British accent, but I think they are pretty close. I really enjoy the dialogue in the Crocodile Dundy films. I'd love to go to Australia some day and spend a few months traveling and photographing all over the country. I'm mostly interested in the people. You would get a better idea of how most of us speak to listening to one of the talkback radio stations....I usually listen to 2UE in the car www.2ue.com.au, you can listen online. fairly middle of the road appealing to the more mature listener. If you ever do get to this country we would be delighted to meet you and give you some basic education in the language and ways . There are still many things - scenery - I have to visit and to photograph. A country roughly the same area of continental USA with a population of about 22 million.... Quote

I've lived most of my life in desert areas like Southern California and Arizona, so I love wastelands. It's kind of nice here because we are close to many different kinds of environments, from high mountains to desert to oceans. It's just beginning to feel like fall. I went up to the mountains the other day with Doug Yowell, who I met on Adventist Forum. He lives only about half an hour away. It took us about an hour to drive up to Big Bear Lake. And I think of any place I would like to live, outside of the good old USA, Australia is one place I could easily feel at home. We have had a fair number of Aussies around here, so I have gotten used to the accent. It doesn't seem all that different to me anymore. But I do get lost in the uniquely Aussie slang!
