The conference will be supporting this growth by granting an appropriation of 50% of the tithe received from each church in excess of the budgeted tithe goal for your local church. The tithe goal for each church is their prorated share of the conference’s budgeted tithe for the current year. The prorated share for 2005 is based on the 2004 annual tithe from each church. For 2005, the Executive Committee adopted a faith budget that calls for a 10.6% increase in tithe. The committee approved this faith budget because for the past several years the conference had reduced the number of pastoral positions and it was felt that we needed to step out in faith and add these positions back into our 2005 budget. God is already blessing the conference with a nice tithe gain for the first five months of this year and administration is hopeful that we will have a number of local churches that will exceed their tithe goal and qualify for an appropriation. Local churches will be able to use these funds for outreach out in their community and also for the support of lay pastors and Bible workers hired by the local church.
