Well from everything I have heard Colorado is just a little slice of Canada stuck in the middle of the States.

Oh, now that is just silly. Shows you just how jealous of American the Candaians were......Adam and Eve were created in Paradise, right???....Just where do you think Paradise is???? why, Colorado, of course!!!

A story I heard one time:

After God created the world he was giving the angels a tour. He had showed them all of Europe and Asia, all of the southern hemisphere, and then he brought them to Canada. They marveled at the amount of trees, the lakes the rivers, mountains, plains...... just the sheer unfathomable beauty of it. One angel remarked..

"Lord, this is more beautiful than heaven itself! What manner of people are to live here that they should have such perfection?"

God roared with laughter, " Perfection? Oh no its not perfection - just wait till I show you who I gave them for neighbors to the south"

I think that somewhere along the way the story became somewhat twisted with a "Canadian Spin"... The way I heard is is that the Angel, Gabriel, was discussing Canada with the Lord and marveled at all the natural wonders and riches that He had bestowed in one place. "How could you do all that there?" he asked in wonder. According to the story the Lord smiled and said, "But in Canada I put Canadians"...Nuff Sed

Been to canada many times on fishing trips. At night

you were told not to go into town after dark because of the anti-american feelings that were predominant. At night those big old lumber jacks come out of the bush looking for trouble.

Naturally my beer drinking brother put that to a test and had to

be escorted out of town by a Canadian police officer and was told not do come back.

What precipitated the whole event was that the candian bar keepers did not want to give my brother the fair exchange rate on the us dollar at the time.

As a side note I prefer the colder north temperatures and also the pine trees and spruce bogs. It does get to hot down here in the states during summer.

@M.T......From 1975 to 1993 two weeks every year. Just 90 kilometers east of Kenora on a lake called eagle lake. The incident with my brother happened around 1982. The exchange rate then was for every american dollar you would get $1.50 canadian.

The name of the lumber town was Dryden on the wabigoon River

MT - Canada's enforcement of weed laws has grown pretty lax, hasn't it?

I agree that Canada is likely one of the best places in the world to live except for 1 thing - cold. At my age, I find cold painful. I'd rather it be 45 degrees C than -25 C.
