I've been looking at teachings from many different churches and teachers, on the "rest of the dead" who "lived not again until the thousand years were finished."

I'm looking for some input from Adventists. I know you will need to share from EGW published writings, but I will be looking for Scripture.

Who are these people?

I think the NT makes it pretty clear that the Second Coming will be judgment day. 2 Peter 3:7 calls it "the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men." It is also called a "day of destruction" and "wrath."

Daniel 12:2-3 says, "multitudes of those that sleep in the dust will awake, some to everlasting life, and some to everlasting contempt." You don't come back from "everlasting contempt" - that's a done deal. Abd that's TWO types of people raised on that day.

So if multitudes are judged worthy of "everlasting contempt" on this day, and they are "slain by the brightness of His coming" - why wake them up again - 1000 years later to execute them all over again? Seems like overkill to me.

I know about the "special resurrection" of those who condemned Christ to die, but what about all those places that have the people of Sodom rising up to condemn the people of cities that refused the disciples of Christ. The Queen of the South rises to condemn the people of Christ's day.

2 Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. (2Pe 3:7 KJV)

Doesn't the earth "pass away" - burned with fire - at the Second Coming??? So that would be the "judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

There are sooooo many prophecies of people from the nations coming up to Zion to learn the ways of the LORD. WHEN does that happen?????? Zechariah 14:17 has "the families of the earth" invited to come up to Jerusalem to "worship the King". But the "family of Egypt refuses to come up.

Did you know that the mixed multitude in the wilderness were called "the family of Egypt." Sounds like there may be ANOTHER "mixed multitude" who follow the "greater Exodus."

I'm just wondering if the people who are raised AFTER the 1000 years, rather than being the wicked who are raised to be executed - might be people from every nation who lived in ignorance during the first 6000 years. Maybe they are raise to give them an opportunity to KNOW Christ. They would FIT all those prophecies of "the LAW will go forth from Zion."

Most will rebel of course - and that would be the Gog-Magog battle.

Thank you for any feedback.....

This is a fascinating topic, sadly I just got home from work and have to get up early tomorrow so it is not wise for me to go into detail now. But at the second coming that is when those who are living will see Jesus, those in him will be translated and those who reject him are killed by the brightness of his coming. The dead in Christ will rise but the rest of the dead do not live until the thousand years are up.

the "thousand years" (a term which technically means as long as necessary) is where Satan and the demons have no one to tempt, thus get a chance to think over what they did, and learn about the ugliness of evil. They are too busy playing with it that they haven't taken the time to really know it. This is my speculation, but as they see how ugly it is and what they did, I would not be surprised if they request another chance. Meanwhile those who have accepted Christ are in heaven having our questions answered.

At the end of the thousand years those in Christ come down with the New Jerusalem to this earth. The lost rise and see the full beauty of Jesus. This is where they have their questions answered. Satan and the demons get their second chance, but find that the have not changed, they continue to lie and deceive.

This is a time where all questions are to be answered. For those who have accepted Jesus to continue their choice to live with him. For those who have rejected they have their choice not to continue.

Kevin: As far as I am concerned you have the sequence exactly As I have been taught.................BUT...... I am a little bit perplexed about the evil angels on this planet doing nothing for 1000 years............

Is it altogether possible that being that God's time and ours is 'different' we might rise at the Second Coming, visit planets on the way up, take part in the great feast, look over the books of heaven and come back again to an earth made New? 1000 earth years will have passed for who or whatever is here but WE who have been 'Redeemed' will not have gone through that much time for we will be living in God's time then?

Yeah, yeah, I know all about the Heavenly mansions etc. etc. It's just a theory that is not necessary for Salvation but interesting to think about. Nuff Sed

I am also looking at other teachers - other than SDA.

I AM on board with the SDAs re: the earth will be the uninhabited place during the 7th millennium. The scapegoat (SATAN) is banished to the uninhabited place by the "fit man" (that's Christ).

Where I'm not with the SDAs is their teaching that "the rest of the dead" are all of the wicked who were slain at the Second Coming.

Matthew 13:47-50 says that the wicked are separated and cast into the furnace of fire "at the end of the age" - which would be at the Second Coming.

Peter calls it "the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."

Daniel 12:1-3 says "multitudes of those who sleep in the dust will awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting condemnation." Sooooo - two kinds of people are raised on the day Christ returns in glory. EVERLASTING CONDEMNATION is a done dead. You don't come back from that. WHY is Christ going to resurrect them - judge them - and destroy them on the day He returns, only to DO IT AGAIN, after 1000 years have passed?????

I know EGW calls it the "special resurrection."

If the stubbornly rebellious are destroyed (that's what perdition means) at the Second Coming, and the righteous are delivered and go to the Father's House with Christ

IS IT POSSIBLE

that there are OTHER dead??

Maybe ones who did not reject the LORD, because they never KNEW about Him. They were not stubbornly rebellious. That implies KNOWLEDGE.

OK - here's a story.

Two young men - best friends - are out hunting on the African plain. They are both captured by Arab slave traders, march to the coast and put on a slave ship. Now one of the boys dies in the arms of his friend, in the hold of that stinking slave ship. His friend says to him, "I will never forget you."

The surviving boy is put on the auction block in the American South - but he is bought by abolitionists, educated in England, and comes back to the States to preach the gospel to Blacks throughout the South. He finally dies at 81 yrs old.

When that faithful preacher of the gospel awakens on the resurrection morning - what do you think he is going to ask his guardian angel??????

What about my friend. I want to tell my friend about Jesus.

We never knew about HIM, when we were kids.

I think his angel is going to tell him,

"Do not worry. Jesus wants that too."

I am thinking that the "rest of the dead" who come up in the great resurrection after the 7th millennium, may be those who were neither sheep NOR goats during this first age, BECAUSE they did not have the information, they died too young, or because they were mentally handicapped.

They will be taught and governed by the "priests of the LORD." They will come up to the Temple seen by Ezekiel.

Some will choose the LORD and will be invited to come into the City. Others will rebel - and that's Gog-Magog.

There are dozens of prophecies which describe people from the "nations" coming up to Zion, to learn the ways of the LORD, AFTER the Tabernacle of the LORD has been restored on Mt. Zion. (Isa. 14:1, Eze. 37:15-27, Isa. 2:1-4, Mal. 4:1-2, Hag. 2:6-9, Amos 9:11-12, Isa. 61:4-9 my favorite, Zec. 2:11, Jer. 16:19-21, Zech 8:22-23,

Isaiah 11:1-10 The “Rod from the stem of Jesse” will slay the wicked [at the Second Coming]. Then “the wolf will dwell with the lamb” and “the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD.” This “root of Jesse” [Messiah] will “stand as a banner to the people;” and “the Gentiles will seek Him.”

Here the “Gentiles” seek the LORD, in the same kingdom where the wolf dwells with the lamb. This is the Messianic Kingdom.

I KNOW there is a place where EGW wrote that "the LORD cannot take the slave to heaven, who lived only in fear of his master's lash." This makes sense to me ONLY IF that human being will come up with the "rest of the dead" at the 8th Day. Jesus gave His life for that man. He loves that man. I just do not believe that He will consign Him to the "lake of fire," or even simply leave him eternally dead, without giving him an opportunity to choose.

The scapegoat (SATAN) is banished to the uninhabited place by the "fit man" (that's Christ).

That goat could not possibly have lived 1,000 years. Day for day is the method YOU say you use. A goat probably has a 15 year life span. Therefore the time period that the devil is left chained to Earth desolate must be probably less than 20 years.

How come the goat being banished can be 1,000 years?

How come the Feast of Tabernacles lasts 7 days, but in literal fulfillment it is stretched out over 1,000 years?

But the Day of Atonement must be day for day and could not be since 1844 according to you?

Posted

Sorry - didn't mean to be confusing.

I just remember that Christ said, "I know my sheep. They hear my voice." He knows who belong to Him and who don't. He doesn't need 200 years to figure it out.

I believe He will go into that judgment of Dan. 7, and come out - right down at the end of this age.

The scapegoat was led into the wilderness and released. There was no accounting of "how long" it lived. No one monitored it. The point was The Day when he was banished - ON the Day of Atonement.

Another ancient Jewish way of referring to Yom Kippur was simply to say "The Day." Paul used that expression in that way.

The scapegoat was banish on the SAME DAY that the High Priest went in AND came out of the Most Holy Place. There wasn't any long delay.

From Hair:

How come the Feast of Tabernacles lasts 7 days, but in literal fulfillment it is stretched out over 1,000 years?

I don't think I said that.

I said that we will keep the Feast of Tabernacles in the Kingdom, during the 8th millennium. We will go up to Mt. Zion to keep the Feast. People from the nations will be invited. But the Feast itself only lasts 7 days.

In the prophecy a day represents 1000 years.

SDAs have preached that.

We are almost 6000 years since the sin of Adam.

The earth will rest for the 7th "day" - 1000 years of the 7th millennium.

But SDA interpretation stops there.

They don't go on to talk about the 8th day.

The fate of all the damned will be same as this case of Satan,

Eze 28:6 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God;

Eze 28:9 Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.

Eze 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Eze 28:18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

I'm thinking that the OT prophecies of Israel ruling the world as representatives of YHVH for 1K years will indeed take place. The 144K will be the main participants in the world government. There will be a Temple, but probably not originating from this planet. It's described in the last few chapters of Ezek. At the end of the 1K years, the 2nd resurrection takes place, a massive re-incarnation in which all the rest of humanity who ever lived will be cloned from stored memories and genetic codes. That includes us.

This will mean many, many billions of humans, probably naked, swarming over the face of the Earth, a great sea of humanity. In short time four rulers of four kingdoms arise, in sequence, as predicted by Daniel. During this time period everyone will have a fair opportunity to choose whom they will serve, either YHVH the Creator and Owner of us and this world, or, the Evil One.

During the reign of the Fourth Kingdom, the forces of evil overwhelm the Temple of YHVH and overpower the servants of YHVH, killing all, or nearly all, of them. Before the 4th Beast completely destroys all life on Earth, and the planet too, YHVH, and his son, arrive in the skies above the shattered world.

As YHVH's feet touch the Mt. of Olives, a great plain spreads out before him. This is the area where the judgment of humanity takes place. Once again, another resurrection, where all must stand to face their life's record. The several year's time period following the 2nd resurrection at the end of the 1K years is when all humans are equally exposed to the 3 angel's messages, so there can be no excuses for refusing to become servants of YHVH.

After the Judgment is over, the sheep are separated from the goats, that is, the servants of YHVH are separated from the servants of Satan. Satan and all of his followers are thrown into a fiery, volcanic pit, not far from the land of Israel, where they all meet their doom. Humans, of course, don't last long in the intense heat of the blasting lava, but Satan and his non-human crew aren't so fortunate.

We all know about the restored Earth and how selfishness and evil will no longer exist. Those who are chosen to participate in the Kingdom of YHVH will have their sense of Self removed from their consciousness, making it impossible for rebellion to ever occur again.

It's a happy ending for those who choose to become servants of YHVH, even in the face of death. Jesus did say that those who live will die, and those who die, for his sake, will live.

Not sure I follow all of that Aliensanctuary. Hope you weren't just trying to make fun of a different viewpoint that you are not familiar with.

You might like to check out my website: www.prophecyviewpoint.com.

I agree with the SDAs on most everything concerning death, and judgment.

I will try to explain where I differ.

Death is an unconscious "sleep."

At the Second Coming the redeemed AND the wicked will be raised, but not those from the nations who had no knowledge of God the Father or His Son.

The ignorant, children, and the mentally handicapped will all be resurrected later - after the 1000 years of the 7th millennium. They are "the rest of the dead."

Christ will judge and execute justice upon all of the wicked raised on the day He returns. (Daniel 12:1-3, John 5:28-29,Acts 24:15, Matthew 25:31-34, Romans 2:5-11, 2 Tim. 4:1) It will be Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement for Israel and for the informed mixed multitude. The wicked will all be slain and their bodies burned with the earth.

The righteous will go with Christ to the Father's House, where they will prepare for the priesthood.

The earth will be desolate and without life during the 7th millennium.

(See study: "Millennium" at my website www.prophecyviewpoint.com)

At the end of the 7th millennium, the redeemed will return to this earth where they will build Ezekiel's Temple. (This is the "return to the land".) They will begin to rebuild and restore. The water of life will flow out from Ezekiel's Temple and the earth will come to life. THEN there will be a great resurrection of the "rest of the dead." They are the "nations."

Israel will serve as priests to govern these nations, and teach them the ways of the LORD. Many from the nations will come to know to LORD, and will enter into covenant with HIM. But the majority will rebel. They will come up with a great army under a general named Gog, bent on the overthrow of the rule of Christ. That is the Gog-Magog Battle.

After the wicked from the nations are destroyed, THEN will come the final judgment review of all the records, and THEN God the Father will destroy in His special "Lake of Fire" His retained memory of all these people. These people are NOT resurrected again. There is no mention of them coming to life again. They ARE dead when the record of their lives is examined, and remain so. They "stand before God" only in the sense of the record of their lives.

Only AFTER the final judgment-lake of fire, does the Holy City descend from Heaven.

You realize that it is 345 miles high. It rises up past our atmosphere. I think it is a portal between earth and heaven. Think of Jacob's ladder. It is what the builders of the Tower of Babel were trying to copy.

Hope I have explained where my view differs from that of SDAs. It is all explained in detail with Scripture support at www.prophecyviewpoint.com

It is only the Redeemed who live and reign with Christ the thousand yrs. between the first and second resurrection,

Re 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Re 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Re 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

None but the ones counted holy take part in the first resurrection, the rest are raised to meet their judgment and everlasting death in the second and last resurrection.

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1Jo 4:5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

1Jo 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error

On the contrary, I have been trying to make a coherent timeline of Last Days events using the writings of Daniel, Isaiah, and a few other prophets, and of course, the Son of Man. The Four Beasts of Daniel will arise during the Last Days, which have not occurred yet, contrary to the beliefs of the Founding Fathers and Mother of Adventism.

The Holy City you referenced, in Rev it is described as being 1400 miles on each side. That would make it approximately 2/3 the size of the moon. A city either 345 miles high or 1400 miles high would not be able to land on the surface of this planet, but would have to remain in orbit.

Quote:
Rev 21:16.

When he measured it [the city], he found it was a square, as wide as it was long. In fact, it was in the form of a cube, for its length and width and height were each 1,400 miles.

"Heaven" means "up", "sky", or "space". This huge, brilliantly lit city, then, is actually a starship city, arriving in the skies above Earth after a long journey through space.

Quote:
heaven:

shaw-mah'-yim

to be lofty; the sky (as aloft; the dual perhaps alluding to the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as to the higher ether where the celestial bodies revolve)

The length, breadth and height are equal. That would describe a cube, but could also describe a Ziggurat - which goes up by levels (foundations). Anciently each level was covered with a different precious stone to make it a different color. The god, would be at the top, in a gold temple.

If the Holy City is spiritual (meaning we cross into the spirit dimension when we enter it) then the bottom foundation COULD sit on the earth, in this physical dimension - and the rising levels could go into the spiritual dimension - Heaven.

Just a thought.

Gibs said:

"None but the ones counted holy take part in the first resurrection, the rest are raised to meet their judgment and everlasting death in the second and last resurrection."

Daniel 12:1-3 “There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people – everyone whose name is found written in the book--will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.” NIV

2 Timothy 4:1 “I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:”

Romans 2:5 “But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who "will render to each one according to his deeds": eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness-- indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For there is no partiality with God.”

2 Peter 3:7 “But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.”

In context Peter is definitely talking about the Second Coming.

WILL HE EXECUTE THEM TWICE?

If the wicked are raised to face judgment and death on the day that Christ returns, will He resurrect them AGAIN, to judge them and execute them AGAIN - after 1000 years have past? I have NOT found good evidence that “the rest of the dead” are the wicked who are judged and executed at the Second Coming.

COUPLE OF EXAMPLES:

Matthew 12:41 “The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.”

Matthew 12:42 “The Queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.”

All these verses tell me that the stubbornly rebellious will be raised for judgment and execution, on the SAME DAY that the righteous are delivered - at the Second Coming.

CHILDREN IN THE COMING KINGDOM

Isaiah Chapter 11

The “little child will lead” the calf and the young lion (v.6).

The “nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole” (v.8).

The “weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den” (v.8).

Isaiah 65:20 There will be “no infant mortality.”

Jeremiah 31:8

“Pregnant women and women in labor” are seen among the Israelites gathered and brought back to the land.

This verse suggests that a redeemed woman who died while pregnant, will be raised with the child in her womb, to be born in the Kingdom of Messiah.

Jeremiah 30:18-20

“Behold, I will bring back the captivity of Jacob's tents, And have mercy on his dwelling places; The city shall be built upon its own mound, And the palace shall remain according to its own plan. Then out of them shall proceed thanksgiving And the voice of those who make merry; I will multiply them, and they shall not diminish; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. Their children also shall be as before, And their congregation shall be established before Me; And I will punish all who oppress them.”

QUESTION: Many faithful Israelites have lost infants and children over these 6000 years. When will they be resurrected? Will they come up in the first resurrection-at the Second Coming?

ANSWER: My feeling is that they will not. They cannot enter into the consecration ceremony for the priesthood. They have not yet reached the age of responsible choice. My own belief is that they will come up in the last great resurrection, along with others who did not know of Christ during their lifetimes. Righteous parents will meet their children at this resurrection of The 8th Day. These children will grow up in a wonderful kingdom, ruled by Christ Himself. (And the separation of a thousand years - it may seem but a day.)

QUESTION: Will more offspring be conceived by those raised to life at The 8th Day?

ANSWER: We understand that those raised from the dead at the Second Coming, will not marry, but will be “like the angels of God in heaven” (Matt. 22:30, Mark 12:25).

We understand from the ancient prophetic types that childbirth, sexual intercourse, menstruation, or even an emission of semen rendered one “unclean” (Lev. 12:1-8; Lev. 15:18; Ezek. 36:17; Lev. 15:19-24; Lev. 20:18; Lev. 15:16, 32; Deut 23:10-11). The “unclean” Israelite could not come into the courtyard of the Sanctuary, or participate in any Feast until he/she had completed the ceremony for “cleansing” with the washing and the required offering. To do so was a death penalty offense against God. That person would be “cut off” from the people (Lev. 7:20, Lev 12:4-6, Lev. 22:3, Num. 15:30-31, Num. 19:20, 2 Chr. 23:19). I believe the weight of these passages falls toward no further conception by those given new spiritual bodies (like the angels).

Concerning those raised at The 8th Day (with mortal bodies), it would seem logical that a continuing addition of infants exposed to “sin” would require a continual extension of probationary time, with the possibility of sin and death. I do NOT believe that sin will go on - therefore I so not believe that "the rest of the dead" will conceive more offspring.

I know that someone will ask me about pregnancies, which were terminated or simply died before delivery. I do not know.

I know that Mrs White describes children playing in the kingdom. They climbed the hill and picked the never fading flowers. If I remember right, some of them even had red armbands signifying that they had been martyred.

Is it possible that Mrs. White was shown the kingdom on earth during The 8th Day (the 8th millennium), rather than the eternal kingdom after the Holy City has descended. She and the Advent pioneers did not understand The 8th Day. It was not for their time. If they had understood, back then, that the LORD will raise to life everyone who never learned of HIM - it would have taken the wind out of their missionary sails. Why go to some distant and dangerous place to tell them about Jesus, if the LORD can simply raise them later? I don't think we were supposed to understand it until right down at the end.

The teaching of The 8th Day and an understanding of who "the rest of the dead" really are speaks to the justice of our God. HE will not give little children a free pass into Heaven and eternal life, just because they died as children. (He would have to manipulate their minds to make sure they do not sin again.) But HE will not leave them eternally dead either. HE will resurrect them to life at The 8th Day, and they will then learn of Christ, and can then choose whom they will serve.

8thdaypriest,

I know what Daniel stated and yes of course, since there is two resurrections it takes care of the righteous in the first and the damned in the second.

Daniel just didn't mention that fact.

And yes Christ at His appearing has His reward with Him and He catches up to meet Him the Redeemed alive and those who sleep and the living unrighteous are of course judged so.

You may not like EGW's council but when she states "I saw" one better sit up and listen,

" I saw that the two-horned beast had a dragon's mouth, and that his power was in his head, and that the decree would go out of his mouth. Then I saw the Mother of Harlots; that the mother was not the daughters, but separate and distinct from them. She has had her day, and it is past, and her daughters, the Protestant sects, were the next to come on the stage and act out the same mind that the mother had when she persecuted the saints. I saw that as the mother has been declining in power, the daughters had been growing, and soon they will exercise the power once exercised by the mother. {SpM 1.4}

And the Protestants will work as their mother worked before them to destroy the saints. But before their decree bring or bear fruit, the saints will be delivered by the Voice of God. Then I saw that Jesus' work in the sanctuary will soon be finished. And after His work there is finished, He will come to the door of the first apartment, and confess the sins of Israel upon the head of the Scape Goat. Then He will put on the garments of vengeance. Then the plagues will come upon the wicked, and they do not come till Jesus puts on that garment, and takes His place upon the great white cloud. Then while the plagues are falling, the Scape Goat is being led away. He makes a mighty struggle to escape, but he is held fast by the hand that leads him. If he should effect his escape, Israel would lose their lives. I saw that it would take time to lead away the Scape Goat into the land of forgetfulness after the sins were put on his head. {SpM 2.1}

All judgment is given to the hand of Jesus Christ and so He places all of forgiven sin on Satan's head and He does this soon after His work is finished He leaves the Holy of Holies and comes to the first or Holy place.

There is to yet be the great white judgment of which all will get to see and acknowledge His righteousness and all will bow the knee just and unjust that it is just and right.

His reward is with Him when He comes proves He has made a judgment!

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

If we stick to the "day-for-year" principle trotted around by SDA's for the first 18 Chapters of Revelation, what is the justification for the "year-for-a-year" principle that suddenly shows up when we discuss the milenium in Revelation 19 and 20? If we are to be consistent throughout Revelation, with the "day-for-year" principle, that goat will be around for about 360,000 years(talk about an old goat!). It's either that, or the 2,300 days and the 1,260 days are about 6.4 years (or 3.2 years - a time, times and part of a time of you translate 2300 morning-evenings into 1150 days of morning and evening sacrifices) and 3.5 years (also a time, times, and part of a time) I tend to find the latter more feasible than the former.

Satan is the scapegoat of scripture that was portrayed in the type. The sins of the redeemed are placed upon his head.

Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
