Actually only secondarily as I cannot believe that a bond so strong as seen on the web page above would be left to die unless

for some reason there was no human connection to the animal creature.

a friend pointed me to the verse in revelation, "i will make all things new"

so perhaps our pets will be made new, with everlasting bodies.

God who is infinite and all powerful and all knowing, and all loving would have no difficulty doing this.

it remains to be seen.

It sure would be nice to be able to have Mr. Murphy in heaven.

Then if I could have him, I don't see why I couldn't also have Bud, Bud Jr., Bo, and Scruffy and Fluffy.

Scruffy and Fluffy were brother and sister, and the only two that Mr. Murphy had the pleasure of knowing personally.

The animals suffer for our sins and their death is based on the curse of the thorns. Let's not forget that Jesus bore their curse and their death when he wore the crown of thorns. And let's not forget all the lambs that died for people's sins, yet Jesus bore those sins, so are they to die in vain, no more than an IOU?

Are we to be redeemed for our sins, yet our victims not share in the redemption? Did Jesus die for us but wear the crown of thorns in vain? Is this whole universe too small for God to find someplace for these animals who have been so dear to us?

I expect that in the New Earth he will be reunited with both sets of children.

And we are talking about the New Earth, aren't we?

So I expect the originals, not some ersatz replacements, thank you very much.

Yes, but that was in this life that he got new children. Unless the first ones were evil, they will be in heaven.

Some people get a stepfather after their real dad dies. Doesn't mean that dear old dad can't make it to heaven.

But I know what you're saying about the pets being a different kind of flesh and all. They may not be there. I'm just sayin' it sure would be nice.
