A Fire In Our Bones!

The Truth of His Word must be as a fire in our bones and we must have it now as it certainly is beginning now, the latter rain of His Spirit and I believe it is the comforter in great measure in this latter rain which will be greater than at Pentecost!

There is some strong council from EGW on this very subject, if I posted all she said on this it would be a small book, here is a couple,

Remember, He has faithful in all the church structures and they too will be coming out, I've been seeing this, and now EGW,

" Only those who are living up to the light they have will receive greater light. Unless we are daily advancing in the exemplification of the active Christian virtues, we shall not recognize the manifestations of the Holy Spirit in the latter rain. It may be falling on hearts all around us, but we shall not discern or receive it.--TM 507 (1897). {LDE 195.4}

Those who make no decided effort, but simply wait for the Holy Spirit to compel them to action, will perish in darkness. You are not to sit still and do nothing in the work of God.--ChS 228 (1903). {LDE 196.1}

"Under the figure of the early and the latter rain, that falls in Eastern lands at seedtime and harvest, the Hebrew prophets foretold the bestowal of spiritual grace in extraordinary measure upon God's church. The outpouring of the Spirit in the days of the apostles was the beginning of the early, or former rain, and glorious was the result.... But near the close of earth's harvest, a special bestowal of spiritual grace is promised to prepare the church for the coming of the Son of man. This outpouring of the Spirit is likened to the falling of the latter rain; and it is for this added power that Christians are to send their petitions to the Lord of the harvest "in the time of the latter rain." {AG 220.2}

As Christ was glorified on the day of Pentecost so will He again be glorified in the closing work of the gospel, when He shall prepare a people to stand the final test, in the closing conflict of the great controversy. {AG 220.3}

Many . . . will be seen hurrying hither and thither, constrained by the Spirit of God to bring the light to others. The truth, the Word of God, is as a fire in their bones, filling them with a burning desire to enlighten those who sit in darkness. Many, even among the uneducated, now proclaim the words of the Lord. Children are impelled by the Spirit to go forth and declare the message from heaven. The Spirit is poured out upon all who will yield to its promptings, and ... they will declare the truth with the might of the Spirit's power. {AG 220.4}

NOTICE THE "TRUTH" WILL BE DECLARED!

But unless the members of God's church today have a living connection with the Source of all spiritual growth, they will not be ready for the time of reaping. Unless they keep their lamps trimmed and burning, they will fail of receiving added grace in times of special need. {AG 220.5}

Divine grace is needed at the beginning, divine grace at every step of advance, and divine grace alone can complete the work. There is no place for us to rest in a careless attitude.... By prayer and faith we are continually to seek more of the Spirit. {AG 220.6}

Those words of hers really stirs my heart!

Truly folks, I believe it is beginning and should we not be "putting our shoulders to the wheels."

It is His Spirit of Truth we must have! We MUST have it as He MUST worshipped in Spirit and in truth! Or He is not Present and He must be or we do not have Church, His Presence only in it constitutes Church!

Joh 4:24 ]God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

It has dawned on me for some time now that we must have a fire in our bones for the truth and nothing less than in His Word to us and by His Spirit of Truth guiding us into all truth.

The truth today in this world is a very precious jewel to be found and sorted out from the errors of what is put forth as truth.

We must know the truth for ourselves. Not just because we trust someone who tells us what they say is truth!

"Christ offers a prayer to the Father, and He uses these words in this prayer, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth" (John 17:17). I have sent them into the world as thou hast sent Me into the world, even so have I sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. (See John 17:17-19.)

Mark these words, "I sanctify Myself." Thus He observes a life of perfect obedience, for He is the perfect pattern. Then He goes on and says, "That they may be sanctified"--by what? Through emotion? through feeling? No. Through the truth. We cannot trust to feeling; we must know the truth. {1SAT 16.2}

Now, here is Christ praying to His Father that He will sanctify His followers through the truth. Then there is a truth that sanctifies, that has a sanctifying power upon the believer. And it becomes every one of us in this congregation to inquire what is the truth. 1SAT 16.3}

So dear folks it is adamant that we truly receive His Spirit of Truth and none other. NONE OTHER!

It is now the time of the latter rain of His Spirit upon us. Let each of us pray that He will set our soul on fire that we will be truly alive and spreading the true gospel saved from sin and sinning and preaching the good news of His Salvation with the fire of His Holy Spirit in us!

Because of His Great Love He has extended His Mercy for thousands of years and the time of it is now very soon to close!

Let us all pray to be set on fire of His Spirit until we receive it!

I truly believe that the Spirit of God is being poured out now in the beginning of the latter rain of His Spirit,

"The refreshing is coming from the presence of the Lord. Let us set our hearts in order that the truth of God may live in us; that it may purify us, ready to receive the latter rain.--Letter 9, 1851, pp. 1, 2. (To Brother and Sister Dodge, December 21, 1851.) {8MR 228.2}

"Every desire for truth and purity, every conviction of our own sinfulness, is an evidence that His Spirit is moving upon our hearts. {SC 26.3}

We must be awakened out of our slumber, where is the warning voices?

Yes, I appreciate what you are saying. The Lord has many ways of starting a revival.

Our church was chocked when we discovered that a young lady, so devoted both to Christ and to the health message, suddenly was struck with leukemia.

On July 10 when I had both the lesson study and the sermon in our local church we studied about prayer and we prayed. Some of our members felt the meeting was the start of a revival.

Our church had a special gathering where we prayed for the sick girl, as we were told her case was getting serious, and the parents were worried.

This past Sabbath, just before I stood up for the lesson study, I heard someone entering the sanctuary and taking the seats behind me. When I turned around, I looked right into the face of our patient. She and her parents had come to church.

Several of our texts dealt with witnessing and healing. We read those together and had a season of prayer and thanksgiving. Both the girl and her mother took part in thanking God for making it possible for her to be among us.

All reason to be thankful, keep praying, also that evil influences will not enter and poison our minds and prevent a revival.

Yes Jahann, we are at the time now we will see miracles of the evil first and then greater ones of God. I do see miracles now of ones coming out and keeping Sabbath and many ministries now not of us keeping Sabbath.

The working of Satan is going on now and yes there is miracles there now, we are definitely at the doors of the end time events there is no doubt at all.

" In every church there is need of a spiritual awakening; for many who profess to be Christ's servants are obeying the dictates of a natural heart. They do not the works of God. They have not a saving faith in Him whom the Father hath sent. Oh, if they could only understand that by their waywardness, their inconsistency, their half-hearted service, they are denying their Redeemer and putting Him to open shame! {RH, May 21, 1901 par. 2}

Truly the churches for the most part are Laodicean today.

The shaking will be caused by the straight testimony of the true witness and it is going forth now, hearing it in different places.

"Oh, be so full of the message that it is like fire shut up in your bones, that you cannot hold your peace. It is true, men will say, 'You are too excited, you are making too much of this matter, and you do not think enough of the law; now, you are to think more of the law, dont be all the time reaching for this righteousness of Christ, but build up the law.' Let the law take care of itself. We have been at work on the law until we get as dry as the hills of Gilboa, without dew or rain. Let us trust in the merits of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. May God help us that our eyes may be anointed with eyesalve that we may see." E.G. White, 1888 Materials, Vol.2,557.

This statement makes it crystal clear that in order to obtain that righteousness of God which accomplishes everything one must trust in the MERITS of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. This was the message that in 1888 God intended to be the latter rain message to His people.

"You want to be like little children, hanging upon the merits of a crucified and risen Saviour, and THEN you will be fortified. How? The angels of God will be around you as a wall of fire, the righteousness of Christ goes before you and the glory of God is your rearward. God sanctify our tongues, our thoughts, our minds, that we may dwell upon heavenly themes, and that we may impart that knowledge to others." E.G.W. MS 9, 1891.

One more:

"You cannot exlain this faith that lays right hold upon the MERITS of a crucified and risen Saviour to BRING Christ's righteousness into your life. Clothed with the righteousness of Christ and not your own righteousness, you will not depend upon what you can do or what you will do," for "Christ's righteousness accomplishes everything," as "it is made manifest in obedience to all the commandments of God." Faith Works,65-66,27; Testimonies to Ministers,92.

Thus led by the Spirit, "We shall come in repentance and contrition with a despairing sense of our own finite weakness and learn that we must DAILY APPLY to the MERITS of the blood of Christ that we may become vessels fit for the Master's use." Faith & Works,86.

More evidence that this 1888 message was the Word of the Lord which was to be recevied, believed, and acted upon:

"How long will you hate and despise the messengers of God's righteousness? The Lord has given them His message. They bear the Word of the Lord: There is salvation for you (pardon and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit) but only through the merits of Jesus Christ. The grace of the Holy Spirit has been offered to you again and again." Testimonies To Ministers,96-97.

So If I understand it correctly, the Word of God to His professed people in 1888 (and today again for the last time) was that it invited them to come to Him just as they were, sinful, helpless, dependent, trusting wholly in the merits of their precious Redeemer. They were even told that unless they made it their life business to accept His merits and believe it was their privilege to claim them on a daily basis, they could not be saved!

"Jesus loves to have us come to Him just as we are, sinful, helpless, dependent." Faith & Works,38.

"Unless he makes it his life business to behold the uplipted Saviour and to accept the MERITS which it is his PRIVILEGE to CLAIM, the sinner can no more be saved than Peter could walk upon the water unless he kept his eyes fixed steadily upon Jesus." Testimonies to Ministers,93.

This message could not have been made more clear or more simple or could it?

"The matter of salvation is just as simple as ABC, but we don't understand it." Faith & Works,64.

"Lay hold by faith of the MERITS of Christ and the soul-cleansing blood will be applied." Faith & Works,94.

Do I get this right? As we appropriate to ourselves the merits of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, by claiming them, not only do we receive the forgiveness of sins but the Holy Spirit begins the work of sanctification. And since the work of sanctification is the work of a lifetime we must daily apply to the merits of Christ so that the work of sanctification may be brought to its completion by the Holy Spirit, first the blade, then the ear, and then the full corn in the ear. (Mark 4:26-29)

Thus we read, "As the members of the body of Christ approach the period of their last conflict, 'the time of Jacob's trouble,' they will grow up into Christ, and will partake largely of His Spirit. As the third message swells to a loud cry, and as great power and glory attend the closing work, the faithlful people of God will partake of that glory. It is the LATTER RAIN which revives them and strengthens them to pass through the time of trouble. Their faces will shine with that glory of that light which attends the third angel." Testimonies, Vol.1,353.

It is absolutely true, the merits of Jesus Christ and His White Robe given to us is our only hope. The wages of sin is death and we are all doomed to die and all would if His Merits and White Robe is not imputed to us, credited to us.

"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ to the repenting, believing sinner. {AG 168.4}

The sword of justice was unsheathed, and the wrath of God against iniquity rested upon man's substitute, Jesus Christ, the only begotten of the Father. {AG 168.5}

The innocent died for all who will come to Him that we the guilty might be redeemed.

Yes every last one of us seeing this ought to have a fire in our bones that we can not contain ourselves and proclaim this wonderful message to a dying world.

Let the shaking begin, let us all pray for IT, the Holy Spirit in great measure that all of us would stand up and pour forth the straight truth of the Testimony of the True Witness, Jesus Christ.

Yes the True Gospel of Salvation and His absolute Truth on every point. We must have it or we will not be in Unity and a mixed message goes out and confusion is the result.

HERE IS WHAT MUST BE HAD!

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

"HE WILL GUIDE YOU INTO ALL TRUTH!" "AND HE WILL SHEW YOU THINGS TO COME!"

When we are so filled and all together into "ALL" Truth then we will see great things of the power of His Spirit.

I believe it is falling on some hearts around us now, let us be of that number He fills.
