Guest Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Certainly you don't see even the press keeping it quiet like it did with John Edwards Keeping it quiet!!!!!??? They will shout it from the rooftops when a conservative is involved! All day long from every MS Newschannel. And if there's nothing to shout, heck, they'll gin it up when they deem it necessary. Guest Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I suppose that is why 70 percent of the people in San Diego want their mayor to step down. Remember, California, liberal bastion? Democratic mayor currently in big sex scandal? 70% !!! That seems to be that most liberals in San DIego want him gone. Don't confuse San Diego with San Fransisco, Tom. They are not equal in their liberality. San Diego is more conservative than San Fransisco. (Heck, anyplace is more conservative than SF) At one time, not too far back, SD even elected a conservative mayor. The people there are not your typical CA liberals. Quote
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted July 27, 2013 Administrators Posted July 27, 2013 Failure to pay attention... If you were paying attention to more than Faux News you might actually discover that what they claim about the rest of the media simply isn't true. And you might actually see that there is just as much coverage about Democrats doing bad things as there are about Republicans. It really is very ironic that the Faux News claim that the rest of the media is biased and only reports one side. That is reflected in how this thread has evolved. If Fox gave true fair and balanced coverage, "forgetting" about the Republicans in similar scandals would not have been so likely. The reason I was able to effectively counter, the "Sex Scandals happen mostly to Democrats/Liberals who could care less" is that I don't watch Fox and because I get my news from real journalistic sources that do cover all sides. Guest Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 And where would that be Tom? The Huffington post? LOL If your assumption was true, that I believe the MSM was terribly, overtly, and irreparably biased based only on what I've heard at Fox News, then you would be right, and I would be an idiot. But that simply is not the case. One doesn't have to watch Fox News at all to realize that the MSM is not telling you the full un-slanted story, on ANY issue. Maybe if they did traffic reports they could keep politics out of it, but I doubt it. They would be blaming republicans for the fact that the roads aren't better built, or maintained, or some such nonsense. They are nothing but a bunch of political hacks and shills, NOT reporting the news, but manipulating, shaping, and in some cases creating it out of thin air, just to form public opinion. That's not journalism at all! They all share the same basic ideology, and pushing their agenda is all that matters to them. In many cases they will openly admit they are biased, but somehow, YOU still don't think so. The fact that you thoroughly believe that what you are getting is unbiased journalism, is totally amazing to me. I want to give you SO much more credit than that. But when you say things like Faux News it shows that YOU are the one being duped by hearsay, and not willing to do your own investigation. Or if you do watch a few minutes of it and see something you don't like or agree with, you make the silly assumptions you have made here, and figure that what you've been told must be true. Quote
Guest Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 A bunch of leftist political hacks, from "thrill up my leg" Chris Matthews, to Matt Wower, to liberal Joe "I'll do anything for a paycheck" Scarpetta, who calls himself a conservative! LOL I can watch these people, but not for long, because it actually turns my stomach. Try watching a full 24 hour news cycle at Fox News, Tom. Not just the political shows. They employ many people from your side. (Not just people who SAY they are from your side) They have people like Bob Beckel for crying out loud, and Jeraldo Rivera. And liberal women too numerous to mention. And that's not including the many liberals they bring onto the political shows to let them state their case, or all the ones they invite, but won't come on, because they are cowards who know their ideas can't win against somebody willing to oppose them with true facts. Instead they choose to only go on shows where they know they will be totally un-opposed. The shows you now think are journalistic. Quote
Guest Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Now, back to Weiner! He is being made fun of in ways that Bill Clinton never was. Even by the left. They can't help it. They try not to, but... Quote
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted July 27, 2013 Administrators Posted July 27, 2013 Guess what, I don't get my news from MSM or Huffington Post. Here is the big difference between The Fox approach and theirs. They don't pretend to be fair and balanced and only present one POV with a weak token voice for the other side. And they keep clear lines between news and commentary. Fox blurs that line constantly. In fact their pundits/op-ed drives what news they report, and often the opinion/political propaganda is reported as news. And here is a news flash for you. Just because Fox disagrees or contradicts what everyone else is reporting doesn't mean everyone else got it wrong. (See previous paragraph) And something else that is different about Fox, that when they get something wrong, which they do quite often, they more often that not, do not correct it. They just move on to the next thing and act as if their mistake never happened. Either they really do think they are right and haven't made a mistake, aren't aware they goofed up, or they intentionally do not want to correct mistakes.
