Ron Lambert Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 That is very funny. What was the translation of that inscriptionon the ring? "One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them. One ring to rule them all and in the darkness bind them." If President Bush has that ring, then that is a good thing, isn't it? It should give him the upper hand dealing with all other heads of state, and terrorist groups and their leaders. More power to him! Quote

Moderators Bravus Posted September 26, 2005 Moderators Posted September 26, 2005 ..and of course, who is the person who is perfectly unbiased who can judge the reporting? How objective it looks will tend to depend on one's perspective... Even the chosen order of stories or juxtapositions of facts that are themselves very simple and seen as objectively true can be seen as introducing bias. Nonetheless, the difficulty of finding absolute objectivity should not, I believe, stop journalists from haveing objectivity and fairness as standards toward which they aspire. Quote Truth is important
Dr. Shane Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Objectivity has been taught as the goal in schools of journalism for generations. However more and more of the public is coming to the conclusion that it doesn't exist. As a result more are getting their news from sources like talk radio and Internet blogs that clearly state their bias. The future of broadcasting may well follow in FOXNews' steps of trying to be balanced instead of objective. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor...
