Pipes, Daniel. IN THE PATH OF GOD: ISLAM & POLLITICAL POWER, 1983 & 2002.

The above book may help you to understand current conditions in the world related to Islam. It was first published in 1983 by Basic Books of Harper. That edition contained 372 pages. It has since been revised and republished by another published with additional material. It is available on the Internet. While some have criticized it for an alleged anti-Islamic bias, it has been thought to be of value.

Well, Gregory, it seems any work that sheds the light of truth on Islam is regarded as having an anti-Islamic bias...

I will Google it up...but I am forewarned I have several reading projects in progress at the moment... :)

Blessings! and thanks for sharing the book title...

"As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17

"The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. Waggoner, The Glad Tidings

"Courage is being scared to death - and saddling up anyway" - John Wayne

"The person who pays an ounce of principle for a pound of popularity gets badly cheated" - Ronald Reagan

Quote:
Since its founding in 1952, Basic Books has shaped public debate by publishing award-winning books in psychology, science, politics, sociology, current affairs, and history. Basic's list of influential authors includes Howard Gardner, Irvin Yalom, Lester Thurow, Alice Miller, Orlando Patterson, Douglas Hofstadter, Edward Larson, Beverly Tatum, Stephen Carter, Iris Chang, Niall Ferguson, Ernst Mayr, George Chauncey, Samantha Power, and Richard Feynman.

Any book published as a Basic Book is considered to be important. The book I cited was, in its first publication, published as a Basic Book.

Basic Books does not exist today in the form that it once existed.
