Members phkrause Posted August 20, 2013 Members Posted August 20, 2013 Did you actually see it? or do you mean read? Pretty sad what people do and say to each other. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
M. T. Cross Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 I "saw" it in the news But you know, raising an autistic child, I have seen first hand things very similar. But not that bad. Quote

LifeHiscost Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I "saw" it in the news But you know, raising an autistic child, I have seen first hand things very similar. But not that bad. When the Creator God(Jesus) is excluded, the demons that take His place lead people to the excess of human selfishness. “Now when the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came’; and when it comes, it finds it unoccupied, swept, and put in order. Then it goes and takes along with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. That is the way it will also be with this evil generation.”Matthew 12:42-46 NASB God cares! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
Liz Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I saw this on facebook yesterday. In the article it states that the neighbors are all rallying around this family and that the police are trying to find the letter writer. If I were a betting woman, I would bet that the letter writer is one of those that is now rallying around this family. I bet that they did not expect this to make the news, and I bet that they are trying to cover their tracks. And I hope that the police find them. Administrators Gail Posted August 20, 2013 Administrators Posted August 20, 2013 Well, I'm glad for the good, brave ones that pitched in for the family! I wonder what motivates people sometimes... Stan Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Something seems funny here. I would not be overly surprised if that letter was not sent my neighbours but by family. Time will tell. Ted Oplinger Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Saw this in the news the other day. The tone is certainly boorish and lacking any sense of tact, courtesy, or respect. If this letter is to be taken at face value, then it would seem that the "mother" composing this letter has "normal children", and that she resides fairly close by. Autism is not a singular thing - it has a spectrum from slightly autistic to severe autism. While these children require special needs, they bring joy and sadness to a parent just like any "normal" child would. The family adjusts to meet the needs. This apparent neighbor clues us in to the real selfish values "she" holds. Having one of these of "her" own would certainly ought to change "her" mind with regards to the levels of patience and love needed to raise an autistic child, but I fear from the tone of this letter such an individual would toss such a child aside as unworthy of being raised in a "normal" home. 'Tis easy to scorn such a person this letter depicts the writer to be; however, "she" has my pity and prayers instead. That burden of pride and ego must be crushing on "her" heart and soul... Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J.
