olger Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I like that verse, "Ye shall love one another." Next guy "Yes that is a great verse, but I think it reads 'Love ye one another." "Yes lovely. But I am sure it is 'Ye shall love one another' I just read it last month." "No I am absolutely positive it is 'Love ye one another." "Listen, if you are going to quote scripture, at least quote it correctly." "I am quoting it correctly, you are the one who is in error." "I DESPISE MORONS WHO DELIBERATELY MISQUOTE SCRIPTURE." "AND I CAN'T STAND BABBLING BONEHEADS WHO CAN'T READ !!!" IT'S LOVE YE ONE ANOTHER !!!" (The scene fades away as they are choking one another...). Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Guest Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Wait...I think I can settle this. It says "Love one another". I got it straight from the e-sword KJV. So there. :) Quote
olger Posted September 4, 2013 Author Posted September 4, 2013 Oh, yes dear brother - that is a wonderful rendition. But I'm certain that you missed something in the translation. It clearly says "Love ye one another." G Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Ted Oplinger Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 (silly mode /on) Hmmm...a simple look at the original language context means the actual translation should be "Love another one"...so BOTH of you are WRONG!!!!! (silly mode /off) <snickering at the opening thread while finding a seat with some popcorn> Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. Guest Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Dear brother Ted. Not only did you say the same thing I did, and then tell me it was wrong. But I think you copied and pasted it right out of my post, instead of typing it in yourself. Just a humble observation, but lazy people are seldom right. Quote

It clearly says "Love ye one another." G I like the way you said "Love ye one another". It has a nice ring to it. But I don't know where it came from. Maybe that's the way it reads in some off brand bible, made in a foreign country. I recommend that you use a better brand brother. E-sword is good, or you can get an American made KJV at the Goodwill, if you can't afford a new one. Quote
Ted Oplinger Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 OY!!! Any simpleton can PLAINLY SEE that this verse is quoted from the book of Hezekiah, and "Ye shall love one another" is not the translation there in the ancient Chaldean! Even Ellen White agrees with me (just see Thoughts from Selected Object Lessons, p. 765.1) Now, dear brother, I will pray the Holy Spirit work mighty upon your heart and smite your misunderstanding! Just my humble and merciful $0.02 worth, <going back to the sofa to retrieve the popcorn> Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. Guest Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Well, I'm half way through the book of Hezekiah, and I haven't seen that yet. I'll give you an answer tomorrow. Probably going to have to read the whole thing to find it. Quote

However I am quite happy with the one that I have - even more so because it is the only correct one. Nevertheless, to demonstrate good faith, I read the passage AGAIN THIS MORNING AND IT IS CLEAR THAT IT READS LOVE YE ONE ANOTHER!! I sign off wishing you a an early transmission failure on I5 between LA and San Diego. Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

I very much appreciate your contribution to this thread, while dis-appreciating your world class lack of hermeneutic interpretation. I was personally told in a secret meeting at Andrews with Dr. LaRondelle that Stephen Haskell and ML Andreason AND JN Andrews ALL agree with my sublime interpretation of "Love ye one another." This morning I faithfully read 1 Corinthians 13 in its entirety, and sacrificially spent the next hour in fervent prayer that you would repent of your wicked ways, and admit that my translation carries all the imprimatur of the ABC, the CIA, and UNICEF. Even though this thread makes all of us to chuckle, laugh and to wish continue making funny comments about how many times we wish to apply the commandment of loving one another, this thread also serves to point out a very sad reality. While around the globe people are literally killing each other for religious and political reasons, as a group of believers, we feel demoralized to do what I suggested in my other thread. This to call those who are supposed to represent us in government in order to ask them no more weapons for those who wish to throw down their government by killing their government officials and to refrain to weaken such government by joining those rebels killing anyone due to political and religious reasons. The question is: If we have such difficult time truly expressing love among ourselves despite of our theological differences, how we could ask our representatives in government to encourage people in the Middle East to love one another like Jesus wishes us to love?
