Quote:
in any given classroom in (North America) a conservative estimate finds at least one-third of those kids living in the classroom is in a home WITHOUT a father (whether by death or divorce, etc).... now consider this... these kids will probably learn or have heard the "Lord's Prayer" which begins with --- "Our Father."

Not sure what to think about this. From the age of 10 and on, I grew up in a home without a father. My siblings and I only visited with him every other weekend and one holiday per year.

Sound familiar? That's an equivalent of once a week (Saturday or Sunday--take your pick) and again on Christmas.

That is rough...

When I taught in the lower divisions it always amazed me what the presence of a Daddy did for the whole group in the way of discipline. I wonder if fathers know how welcome they are in what is mainly women's territory

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Glendon Bender, of the Gospel Echoes Prison Ministry Team tells me that 93% of men in prison have either a bad, or no relationship with their father.

It is very important. The consequences of financially rewarding a segment of our population for having children without the benefit & blessing of marriage has been shown to be - devastating. Absolutely devastating.

Let us help connect people to Jesus as the Great Heavenly Healer, and stand up in support of Biblical marriage as the only family model that God approves of.

Without a father, a little girl grows up being abandoned by the first man in her life. Sometimes this becomes a pattern; she repeatedly connects with men who abuse her or abandon her.

Without a dad, a little boy misses out on the role model he needs to become a strong, caring male adult. He never learns first-hand how to treat a lady with respect and deference.

If men only realized how extremely important they are in the LIVES of their children -- not just in creating them, but in nurturing them to adulthood.

Thank God for Grandparents that take the time to replace those absent parents.

And every young person who has been failed by mom or dad can be healed by God's love. it is a sad but not surprising story.

God sent a gentle and innocent one, symbolized by the Lamb, to draw all who have been so lost in broken families, to give them strong hope.

God understands all of our losses from neglect, abandonment, and aggression, any life needs disregarded, and he came to uplift bless and empower us by giving us the relationship Jesus had with his Father.

God must take special joy in each heart whose need for a dad becomes fulfilled in His provision.

Even with the stepping in of family, there is still much in the way of psychological baggage these children will carry through their lives. I do believe, though, that God mitigates such damage through family (aunts/uncles, grandparents) willing to step in where the parents are absent (for whatever reason).

The absence of either Mom or Dad (or, in some cases, both) creates a rift in the mind about what relationships are supposed to be, and especially about what a trustworthy, stable relationships are. Often, it takes a lifetime to undo the damage done in one's formative years - especially the earliest and the teen years, where the active involvement of Mom and Dad are absolutely critical in bonding and learning to deal with others in terms of stability in relationships.

Blessings,

"The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J.
