Michelle Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 I'm taking this opportunity to say thanks to those people I've met through the years on C/A and bid you a fond farewell. I hope that I have not offended anyone here; if I have, I am truly sorry. I have tried to conduct myself as a Christian sister. I have found less and less that I read, lately. Sometimes I feel that the only reason I'd enter a certain thread or forum was for the car crash factor--just to "rubberneck" and see if anyone's getting carried out on a stretcher. I have 2 young children and I teach--I don't need to pay extra for the privilege of watching grown adults do the same things I watch my kids/students do for free! There are those who I have thoroughly enjoyed reading. There are others I avoid. It's been a learning experience! But I no longer feel that it's worth the money. So, Good bye, sayonara, zai jian, adios, adieu, etc. I'll catch you around. M Quote
Paul Beach Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 We shall be sorry to see you leave. We have enjoyed your presence here on the forum and hope that you will reconsider your decision! Please stay! Quote
aka Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Michelle, We'll PM one another off and on nevertheless. It was so nice to see your presence here. A nice stable people-loving person writing in the spirit of respectful politeness. If you do commit to not publicly writing on ClubA just remember at least I think of you as a good role model for what Seventh-day Christian Adventist should be. Besides all that, I am poised to make the same farewell announcement myself. Turmeric Quote
Moderators LynnDel Posted October 7, 2005 Moderators Posted October 7, 2005 I'm going to miss you, Michelle. You're one of the bright spots here. However, I've made that same decision a few times, and see where I am now!!! I wouldn't be surprised to see you still posting now and then . . . Hugs, LD Quote LD
Moderators LynnDel Posted October 7, 2005 Moderators Posted October 7, 2005 Please reconsider, Turmeric!!! Since you are poised on that decision, please teeter into staying. This adios business should not become a contagion. Vaccine, please!!!' The best vaccine is to consider one's purpose here. Unlike many who love to debate, some of us are not here primarily for either debate or the entertainment factor. We are here because we feel like we provide a little bit of sanity (ahem) to a crazy little world. As in the rest of life, God gives us little corners in which we have an influence. Each of those little corners contains people and ideas that may be antithetical to ours, but if we can each make it a mission to influence or encourage at least one person positively (sometimes all someone needs is just a thoughtful and friendly response to a post), it is part of our daily Christian service. Christ lived to bless others. He's our best model. Hugs, LynnDel Quote LD
Moderators Bravus Posted October 7, 2005 Moderators Posted October 7, 2005 As you probably know, we've decided to leave Canada and go back to Australia next year. All our friends and colleagues here have struck a very gracious balance: they've told us they like us and enjoy our presence and work, and will miss us, but at the same time congratulated us on the new job and wished us well and respected our choice. I want to try to strike that same balance for Michelle, and anyone else who decides they need to leave CA. Know that you're appreciated and loved and your contribution is important, and that you'll be missed. But know also that we respect your choice and wish you well. If you drop back in, even just to the free forums, you'll be welcomed warmly, of course. Quote Truth is important

Michelle Posted October 9, 2005 Author Posted October 9, 2005 How sweet--I am actually surprised! Maybe I'll be back. I was at camp meeting this weekend and thought maybe I would be "off" by now. But just wanted to say thanks. Maybe I need an MG-type sabbatical. Who knows. Anyway, thanks for the cyber hugs! Love you all. M Quote
