How old are your ears?? (hearing test)

This is a very interesting test. Be sure to listen in a very quiet setting, or better yet, listen with earphones. When I tried the test in a daytime setting without earphones, I only could hear the 8,000 Hz, but in the middle of the night (like now) I could hear up to and including the 16,000 Hz range..

Here's the levels, with the expected age correlations:

8,000 Hz = everyone

12,000 Hz = under age 50

15,000 Hz = under age 40

16,000 Hz = under age 30

17,000 Hz = under age 24

18,000 Hz = under age 24

19,000 Hz = under age 20

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Pretty sure it's my work computer's speakers letting me down rather than my ears. Will try at home with headphones.

Huh!

Glad to know I'm alive and not hearing impaired. Judging from the responses to my posts, there are many others who are hearing impaired. Not sure whether they're alive or not. giggle

I'm amazed at how accurate the scale seems to be.

My 18 year old son can hear every one.

My 21 year old daughter can't hear the 19,000 Hz, but can hear all the rest.

I (44) can hear 16,000 Hz through 8,000 Hz.

My husband (who's the same age as me but played his car stereo a little too loudly in his teens) can hear only the 12,000 Hz through 8,000 Hz range.

Yep, over 50 year old ears... I guess I won't be responding to dog whistles!

Hmm, I lost it at about 15 kHz.

I'll be 50 fairly soon, and have been to a *lot* of loud metal shows, so it's probably unsurprising.

I heard it at 12000, but at 15000, I heard my computer click and at every subsequent level......and no, I dont have head phones.....

I thought I was going deaf a few years ago so I got a free hearing test. The results: my hearing was actually above normal for my age. The technician and others, including my wife, thought it was more likely that I was just not paying enough attention to those speaking to me.

Wow...this test says I'm both over 50 and under forty at the same time!

I could hear the 8,000 Hz, could not hear the 12,000 Hz, but could hear the 15,000 Hz quite clearly, then not the rest. Very odd.

Middle aged, but young at heart???

"The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J.
