Ted Oplinger Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 We've heard a lot about how the Republicans supposedly are "the party of the rich", so with Democrats in the White House for 5 yrs, and in the Senate for 7 years, and all their "concern" for the "little guy", why do we have such news todays? It can't be the Republicans - they've been bottled up and stymied for the last 5 years. Nothing remotely Republican can get past the Senate, let alone become policy under this president whose party cares so much for...who was that again? Who really is the party of the rich? Democrat economic and monetary policies over the last 5 years have favored the rich getting richer quicker than under any Republican, by far. Compare the following two links: Wealthiest 1% grow wealthier at a record rate and American's net worth slashed 40% during Obama's presidency The Forbes link does show old data (a 2007 vs. 2010 comparison), but things have not grown better, but worse, else it would be proclaimed off the rooftops how the average American has recouped all that net worth and beyond. I think of the term "projection" everytime I hear the rhetoric about how evil and greedy "Republicans" are labelled to be, let alone conservatives, and remember this comparison of real effects of policies. Bush's fault? To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. Neil D Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I agree with Doug....but I tend to think that the Republicans favor the rich a bit more than the dems....just my opinion.... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
Ted Oplinger Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 In reply to no one in particular... Money prefers the philosophy with the real power, because money seeks the protection, and growth in accumulation and influence, by such power. So what whether a Democrat or a Republican gets the outward trappings of power...which political philosophy remains in the trenches of the various bureaucracies and in the various halls of money and power when the letters change with an election? Knowing that allows one to sweep aside the rhetorical drivel given by both the Democrat and Republican party establishments. Follow the money trails, not the rhetoric...and we understand why the rich get richer, while everyone else gets a substantial haircut in their net worth. Just my $0.02...
