Members phkrause Posted September 11, 2013 Members Posted September 11, 2013 A rabbi, a priest and a minister have their houses of worship side by side, so they decide to carpool. On the first day, the other two are shocked to see the pastor lay hands on the hood and pray silently. "What are you doing?" the priest asks. The pastor looks up. "I'm just dedicating the car to the Lord's service." "Good idea! Be right back!" the priest exclaims, running into his church. He emerges with a bulb on a short stick, shaking water out of it onto the car. The rabbi stares. "What are you doing?" he says. "I'm consecrating it with holy water," the priest replies. "Great idea!" the rabbi says, and runs into his synagogue's toolshed. He emerges with a hacksaw and takes off an inch of the tailpipe. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Moderators Kevin H Posted September 12, 2013 Moderators Posted September 12, 2013 Bill Cork, one of my college classmates from AUC in the 1980s, is now a chaplain in the Texas National Guard. He is currently deployed to Kuait. Please keep him in your prayers... Anyway today he posted in Facebook today that he went into the chow hall and joined the Priest and Rabbi who was sitting there. They replied "We didn't have a joke until you showed up" Quote

Is he the guy that left the church and became Catholic and than came back? Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Moderators Kevin H Posted September 13, 2013 Moderators Posted September 13, 2013 I don't think he became a Catholic, but maybe Lutheran, maybe Episcopalian, and then came back. This was during the years I was out of touch with him. But he was very high church, and also very evangelical We were not that good friends in AUC but we have becoming fairly good friends on Facebook the past couple of years. Anyway, I'm sure that he is the same guy who Rick Trott talked about. So where is Rick now a days? What has he been up to? I'd love to be in touch with him again. Quote
Members phkrause Posted September 13, 2013 Author Members Posted September 13, 2013 He's teaching at Quinsigamond Community College, until AUC re-opens? He's on FB. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Bill Cork Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 This is a very old thread to respond to, but yes, the same Bill Cork known by Kevin and Rick Trott since 1980 at AUC. Quote

I've known Rick since 1973/74, that's when I moved up to AUC, to work at the College Press! By the way Rick Trott past away a few months ago! Bill Cork Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 I know. I stayed in touch with him, but wasn't able to go up for the memorial. Quote
Members phkrause Posted March 7, 2018 Author Members Posted March 7, 2018 I felt back I couldn't be at the memorial either!! Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
