Members phkrause Posted September 29, 2013 Members Posted September 29, 2013 In the same way that many of them still — after all these years and against all available evidence — would rather chalk up Bill Clinton’s 1992 victory to the presence of Ross Perot than to their own deficiencies, there are Republicans who still refuse to accept the reality of what happened when they forced a shutdown of the federal government in 1995. http://www.salon.com/2010/09/08/government_shutdown_1995/ Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. joeb Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Let's get this straight. The one's who are saying they will shut down the government are not the Republicans. It's the Democrats, from Obama on down who are threatening a shutdown if Obamacare is not funded. The bill coming out the House funds everything but Obamacare, and Obama is the one throwing the snit and threatening the government shutdown. He's already illegally suspended parts of his own bill because it clearly will not work, but yet wants to shutdown the government because his political opponents say, OK, let's get rid of this stupid bill all the way by just not funding it.
