That is a good show, but unfortunately the poor detective's mind does not work well. He solves problems, but the show would go a lot faster if he did not have all those strange quirks.

Yes I have scene Monk. I like the show a lot. I think it is on the USA channel.

I saw the show once. It must have been a repeat on another channel because I don't have cable. I liked it. I suspect this will be one that is shown on family-friendly channels once it goes off the air.

I love Monk - it's the only program I watch regularly. Since the originals seem to run on Friday nights, I watch reruns (on satellite).

Ofcourse you are correct Schmidt. OTOH, I know people who served in Korea during the "conflict" and really enjoyed MASH. Sometimes we have to laugh at the serious ... it makes it less intolerable.

There is humor to be found in the most serious of circumstances....at least that's my experience.

Mash was set in the Korean war but it a lot of the material was in the vietnam war era. It was an anti war statement. Men who used Humor to avoid going insane with the insanity of war around them.

Try working in a nursing home....You can not help but to fall to humor to relieve the stress of the daily grind. As a patient, your future is to die. You hurt to move, and your only pleasure is to have some grind up meal to slurp it down between your toothless gums. As a caretaker, you clean up vomit, poop, and endless repeat inane comments about going home/family, patients attempting to leave the facility....

Sure, you use humor. You have to use it..'cuz if you don't, you would die.
