I've been told here that Obama's policies have no negative impact the little guy, that what he does helps them. Well, read the following link. It might just open your eyes.

Here's an excerpt from it:

Quote:
The unemployment rate is measured by the separate Household Survey, and it fell two-tenths of a percentage point to 7.4 percent, its lowest level since December 2008. That’s due in part to slow growth in the labor force. The jobless rate is based on a sample of self-reporting from ordinary people across the nation, and it’s the Labor Department measure that shows a very troubling trend in hiring.

“Over the last six months, of the net job creation, 97 percent of that is part-time work,” said Keith Hall, a senior researcher at George Mason University’s Mercatus Center. “That is really remarkable.”

Hall is no ordinary academic. He ran the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the agency that puts out the monthly jobs report, from 2008 to 2012. Over the past six months, he said, the Household Survey shows 963,000 more people reporting that they were employed, and 936,000 of them reported they’re in part-time jobs.

“That is a really high number for a six-month period,” Hall said. “I’m not sure that has ever happened over six months before.”

And here's the link to the entire article. http://hotair.com/archives/2013/08/05/part-time-jobs-account-for-97-of-2013-job-growth/

I like to see the statement that suggests that? I have never read any one on this forum saying that Obama's policies don't effect the little guy! I've read from some that his policies effect all, but mostly the little guy! Whoever is in office, no matter what they do effects everyone, one way or the other.

It's not that people here in the forum were touting the point Obama's policies would have no negative impact on the little guy, PK. It's that this was precisely what Obama himself was touting on the campaign trail. It's what all his supporters were saying with each policy they crafted.

Each and every point Obama has enacted has enabled his wealthy supporters to become much more wealthy, and the little guy to get pushed further and further into government-sponsored poverty and woes.

"We have to pass it to see what is in it." Remember that little line made by Nancy Pelosi in ramming this through on a purely Democrat vote? How could she make such an assertion that Obamacare would not affect the little guy, if she hadn't even read the bill to see if it would?

Such is the foolishness of our current government....

When a company is hit 13 million dollars for insurance they are already providing, where do Obamacare supporters think that money is going to come from? Yet,those that support Obamacare still think it is great and if you are opposed it is out of ignorance or worse.

They fail to address the numerous people that have insurance being priced out of it. Clinics and Dr's that are now demanding the full deductible, which for most is sizable,up front don't seem to be a concern for them.

Look at the statement again Ted, he says "here" does he not??? I'm just wanting to see that for myself. Because unless I missed it, I have not read that here. That's all I'm asking.

And here we go again with the "ignorance" word again! Can you show me where I said that in my replies? Thank you. Looking forward to seeing it copied and pasted here from any of my posts. Again thank you.

I did not say you said it.However ,others have. One poster in particular says that. It has also been said or inferred that it is because of racism.

Do you think that Obamacare supporters would have signed on to this had anyone bothered to read or understand what it would actually do?Unions are crying foul, big business the same, businesses are closing or refusing to expand.Hundreds if not thousands are cutting back to part time and employees that were covered by employer no longer are

What respect of "here", PK? Here on this thread? In the back-and-forth as the subject has played out over several threads and different forums? Likely the latter is what JoeB is referring to.

If I am not mistaken (which could possibly happen), on other threads referring to this law, it was indeed maintained the little guy wasn't going to get hit, that premiums and deductibles were going to be favorable to the little guy, compared to the shake he was getting from insurance companies.

I do know I was opposed on another thread concerning how premiums and deductibles would affect little people, as was a couple of others making the same point. I can easily see where JoeB got the "here" from as he read through those threads.

However, it really does not matter to me who/what JoeB is referencing, PK, as I will instead refer to the fact that Obama and the Democrats have consistently maintained this point ever since they began the process of ramming through the legislation we now know as ACA. That's why I put the exclusionary in.

We are finding out the middle class little guy is going to be the most affected by this law. He will make just enough to forfeit subsidies, but not enough to avoid constantly fighting bankruptcy through year-to-year premium and deductible expenses. The very wealthy and the poverty level get exemptions and subsidies, respectively - both unavailable to the average middle class guy.

And there is still the question of political discrimination through implementation of this beast - exemptions, subsidies, and treatments going first to people "of the correct ideology".... If this "selectivity" by the IRS was enforced on tax exemption applications (and hard evidence exists it has), don't tell me it won't happen when it gets really personal with health care. When God is booed and shunt aside in favor of secular morality, the human heart can be extremely hard and depraved, indeed.

More food for thought...

Point taken, PK. On the other hand, I find it really hard to think he was referring to this thread when he mentions "here" in the opening post....

Just a thought there...

I know you're pretty literal, but you're taking it to the extreme. How could I have mean "this thread" when my post was the opening post? I meant on this forum. I've had a couple of the very liberal, politically, posters here tell me Obama's policies are helping the little the little guy.

Obama is out to destroy this country's economy. He's already run the debt through the roof, and he's reducing the work force to part time, no benefits, work. It's unprecedented what he's done to this country in just 5 years. And, it's going to get worse, as this government takeover of the medical industry is going to be the most expensive government program ever. I saw estimates a couple of days ago that within less than a decade our debt will be anywhere from $30-$100 trillion dollars, and it's going to be solely due to the socialization of the medical industry. The range is due solely to the fact no one, and I mean no one, can estimate the costs accurately because no one, and I mean no one, can say exactly how Obamacare will work.

That means the US credit rating is going to drop significantly so the price of doing anything in this country is going to skyrocket due just to the cost of money(interest rates). And it means that the interest on the US debt alone is soon going to be close to a $1 trillion a year. That means the payment on the debt alone is going to be 1/14th of our current GDP. That is unsustainable.

So how do you know me????? Do we run in the same circles? Have we ever known each other? Lived and been friends in the same city, town, neighborhood, maybe been members of the same church????? Far as I know! I'd say NO!!!!! Almost most of my friends where ever I've lived consider me to be conservative! Pretty interesting wouldn't you say? That's why I say and will always say the label of liberal and conservative is in the mind, and the mind only. It means absolutely nothing. My opinion as to what I've just read of your post here, I'd say you are much more liberal than I could ever be.

Just because I don't agree with you on this, doesn't make me, what you call "a liberal."

Ummm.... Were you having a bad day the day you posted this? Where did I call you a liberal? I said you were "pretty literal" because you assumed "here" meant this thread.

Just curious. Why does it seem that people that are liberal or have a liberal slant object so strongly to that term.

I am a conservative and I have no objection to being called a conservative

No need to apologize, but apology accepted. I've been there and done that too.
