[:"red"] Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners? 6:10 [/]

"And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars" Rev. 12:1

"upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Matt. 16:18

[:"blue"] An army with banners is a victorous army. The church is just such an army which the gates of hell cannot prevail. [/]

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" Eph. 6:12-17

[:"red"] I went down into the garden of nuts to see the fruits of the valley, and to see whether the vine flourished, and the pomegranates budded. Before I was even aware, My soul had made me as the chariots of my noble people. 6:11, 12 [/]

[:"blue"] The bride now speaks. [/]

"Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you." John 15:16

"Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?" Matt. 7:16

[:"blue"] The bride here goes into the "garden" and "valley" to find the trees which produce fruit. This is understood as part of the judgment process. During this time, fallen man chooses if they will follow Christ or remain of the world.

[:"red"] Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return, that we may look upon thee. What will ye see in the Shulamite? As it were the company of two armies. 6:13 [/]

[:"blue"] Here a third party speaks, calling for the bride to return. There are two groups represented here. One is the bride and her queens, concubines and virgins as seen in verse eight. The other is the King and His brave men (3:7). These groups could symbolise the living saints at the second coming and those that come with Christ. [/]

"And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads." Rev. 14:1

[:"blue"] The first ninve verses of chapter seven respond to this question at the end of chapter six. [/]

[:"red"] 1. How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince's daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman.

2. Thy navel is like a round goblet, which wanteth not liquor: thy belly is like an heap of wheat set about with lilies.

3. Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins.

4. Thy neck is as a tower of ivory; thine eyes like the fishpools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bathrabbim: thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh toward Damascus.

5. Thine head upon thee is like Carmel, and the hair of thine head like purple; the king is held in the galleries.

6. How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights!

7. This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes.

8. I said, I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of the boughs thereof: now also thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples;

9. And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth down sweetly, causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak. 7:1-9[/]

[:"blue"] The word "grapes" has been added by the translators. The original text actually says only "clusters" and since this is a palm tree, figs may be a better translation. [/]

"And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away." Matthew 21:19

[:"blue"] Jesus cursed the fig tree becuase it didn't produce fruit. Yet Shulamita's clusters were ripe and delicious thus showing that she represents a church which does produce fruit. [/]

" I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." John 15:5

[:"blue"] Shulamita is shown here as producing much fruit:

• Thy navel is like a round goblet
• Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins.
• Thy neck is as a tower of ivory
• breasts shall be as clusters of the vine
• the smell of thy nose like apples

The "liquor" in Shulamita's goblet is the hebrew word "mezeg" and is better translated "mixed wine". It means tempered wine or water with wine. Perhaps symbolic of being filled with Christ as He offers living water (John 4:10) and His blood is sybolized as wine (Luke 22:20).

The breasts of the Shulamita are also mentioned in chapter four [/] "Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies." [:"blue"] The lilies can be understood to refer to Christ and her breasts as spiritual maturity (Ezk 16:7)

Shulamita's neck was also mentioned in chapter four [/] "Thy neck is like the tower of David builded for an armoury" [:"blue"] The towers of David were strong and may symbolize spiritual strength. Many women carried loads around their necks and developed strong necks. [/]

[:"blue"] Shulamita's nose smelled as apples which is symbolic of the church's faithfulness in evangelism. [/] "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver." Prob. 25:11

[:"blue"]Shulamita responds to the Groom's description of her. [/]

[:"red"] I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me. 7:10 [/]

[:"blue"] The symbolism is simple and clear. The church belongs to Christ and He loves her continually. [/]

[:"red"] Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages. Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves. 7:11, 12 [/]

[:"blue"] The bride was told to go out unto all nations and tougues. [/] "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" (Matt. 28:19) [:"blue"] Here she is eager to go out into the villages. She desires to go into the vineyards.[/] "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few" (Matt. 9:37) [:"blue"] It is noteworthy that she proposes to do this work with the Groom and not on her own. [/] "for without me ye can do nothing." (John 15:5)

[:"red"] The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved. 7:13 [/]

[:"blue"] Rachel asked for mandrakes from her sister (Gen. 30:15) which was an herb still thought to promote [/] desire and fertility. [:"blue"] Symbolically the bride looks for to harvest this fruit so that she may multiple in odedience to the great commission of Mathhew 28. [/]

O that thou wert as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! when I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised. 8:1

In the New Testement, believers call each other brothers. Christ is among the brothern."For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren" (Heb.2:11) Paul also makes mention of spiritual milk for spiritual babes in 1 Corintians 3:2

In chapter 5 verse 6 the bride sought her Groom but could not find Him. Now she says,"I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised."
