Is the Gay agenda as the sin of Alcohol in the 1800's??

In the case of prohibition it would be hard to find people who would support it today. And yet the level of sin that this is in the sight of God is not fully appreciated.

Yet the question is -- is the gay agenda as the sin of alcohol?

The basic issue is the right to privacy, personal freedom - vs legislating Christian moral values to restrain the reach of evil in society.

Most SDA Christians consider the gay agenda as a far more morally objectionable issue - so take this insight into some of the same foundational principles.

======================================

In consequence of long-continued and progressive rebellion against the higher constitution and laws, a gloomy pall of darkness and death is spread over the earth. The earth groans under the burden of accumulated guilt, and everywhere dying mortals are compelled to experience the wretchedness included in the wages of unrighteousness. I was shown that men have carried out the purposes of Satan by craft and deceit, and a dreadful blow has recently been given. It can be truly said: “Justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter,” “and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey.” In some of the free states the standard of morality is sinking lower and lower. Men with depraved appetites and corrupt lives have now an opportunity to triumph. They have chosen for their rulers those whose principles are debasing, who would not check evil, or repress the depraved appetites of men, but let them have full sway. If those who choose to become like the beasts, by drinking liquid poison, were the only sufferers; if they alone would reap the fruit of their own doings, then the evil would not be so great. But many, very many, must pass through incredible suffering on account of others’ sins. Wives and children, although innocent, must drain the bitter cup to its dregs. {1T 362.1}

Without the grace of God, men love to do evil. They walk in darkness, and do not possess the power of self-control. They give loose rein to their passions and appetites until all the finer feelings are lost and only the animal passions are manifested. Such men need to feel a higher, controlling power, which will constrain them to obey. If rulers do not exercise a power to terrify the evildoer, he will sink to the level of the brute. The earth is growing more and more corrupt. {1T 362.2}

You could easily replace alcohol with gay marriage in those quotes.

Both have shown themselves to be vile from away back and no doubt before Noah when He was saturated with wine I suppose and Ham got at Him and did the other gay thing.

The world had gotten very vile before the flood and is the same today and yet of the ones God saved out of it this happened.

What can we say? It appears to me,Without Christ we will fall too so beware!

I don't know about "easily" Windsor. I suspect the damage to others and over all is more significant with alcohol than with a gay lifestyle. That may be ONLY because the widely accepted tolerance and even blessing of a gay lifestyle is very new, compared to alcohol abuse.

In time, society may well find out that the LGBT lifestyle is even more devastating to society than alcohol. Especially when societys cup of iniquity becomes full, for many and varied reasons, and God brings judgment as a direct result.

We are told that this Nation passing a Sunday law will lead to National ruin. Our "cup" will be full at that time. But I gotta wonder, the cup must surely being nearing full with this new wide acceptance of LGBT and the resultant impact on Christians! By the time we get to Sunday laws, the cup runneth over.

I get that same sense from the subject. The same issue is there in the modern form only much more so.

In Lev 18 God names a few things for which He will wipe out even pagan nations - how much more supposedly Bible-aware nations. Drinking alcohol is not in HIS Lev 18 list - but the gay agenda is.

So if alcohol deserves that kind of attention - how much more something that God says in guaranteed to wipe out whole nations?

It is what is done to the mind, note reprobate.

Given over to "reprobate minds!"

96. adokimos

adokimos ad-ok'-ee-mos

from 1 (as a negative particle) and 1384; unapproved, i.e. rejected; by implication, worthless (literally or morally):--castaway, rejected, reprobate.

See Greek 1

See Greek 1384

Ro 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

Ro 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Ro 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

Ro 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Ro 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Ro 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

Ro 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

Ro 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

Ro 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

i dont think so.

identity formation is complex, and orientation shift is not as easily acquired as a bottle of booze.

When God gives one over to a reprobate or worthless mind what have you left?

This is what it is all about, the battle of the mind. Satan then has that one won and very few ever pull out of it.

Satan don't give them up easily. Pastor Butch Paugh had one that it appears did and he did his testimony and I heard it on the 1 hour broadcast one night and the man said Satan had destroyed him. Left him with slur of speech.

He don't give them up easily off the bottle either, my brother was an alcoholic and he finally did break loose and he was destroyed too, died at age 61 with a tumor on the brain.
