Members phkrause Posted November 5, 2013 Members Posted November 5, 2013 Chaim Yankel believed with all of this heart that it was his life’s mission to become an actor. He raised some money from friends and family from his village and went to New York to produce a play – William Shakespeare’s Hamlet – with him starring in the lead role. When he came back to New York a group of his friends greeted Chaim Yankel but noticed that he appeared despondent. "What's the matter, Chaim Yankel? Didn't they appreciate your performance?" asked one of his friends. "They didn't seem to," answered the budding actor. "Well, did they give you any encouragement? Did they ask you to come to the curtain to take a bow?" persisted the friend. "Ask me?" answered Chaim Yankel. "Oy, they dared me!"
