If God did not give us the gift of the Holy Spirit, the following things would be missing from our lives:

- Being re-born - (Jn 3:3-6)

- Being able to see the kingdom of heaven (Jn 3:3)

- Experiencing resurrection (Rom 8:11) from death in trespasses and sins (Eph 2:1, Col 2:13)

- Being sons or daughters of God (Rom 8:14)

- Having a divine witness of our divine adoption (Rom 8:15)

- Having a divine witness of our or intercession before the Father (Rom 8:16)

- Experiencing genuine regeneration, and having spiritual sensitivity to the blight of sin

- Being able to live spiritually & please God (Rom 8:8,9)

- Being led by God instead of the evil one (v. 14)

- Receiving help for our infirmities (Rom 8:26a)

- Experiencing a genuine prayer-life (Rom 8:26b)

- Experiencing intercession on our behalf (Rom 8:26c); and our prayers making sense

- Knowing that we belong to God (Rom 8:9, Matt 7:23)

- Being able to shed love abroad and have God in our heart (Rom 5:5, Rev 2:4)

- Escaping from being aliens, strangers, hopeless, helpless (Eph 2:12)

- Experiencing justification through the Son of God (Rom 5:1a)

- Having genuine peace with God through His Son (Rom 5:1b)

- Being granted access into God’s grace through His Son (Rom 5:2; Rev 6:16)

- Being saved from wrath (Rom 5:9)

- Being reconciled through the Son of God (Rom 5:10a)

- Being saved by the Son's life (Rom 5:10b)

- Experiencing joy in God (Rom 5:11a); and our Christian life

- Experiencing atonement with God through His Son (Rom 5:11b)

- Being granted access to the Father through His Son- “no man comes to the Father, but by me”

- Being elected for the heavenly inheritance by the Father (1 Pet. 1:2)

- Being predestined unto the adoption of sons by the Father (Eph 1:5)

- Having acceptance in Christ the beloved through the Father (Eph 1:6)

- Experiencing purification of the heart (Acts 15:9)

- Experiencing sanctification (1 Pet. 1:2)

- Having an element of faith (Acts 15:8, 9)

- Being without sin (Rom 14:23) through faith

- Having genuine faith & pleasing God (Hb 6:6)

- Having strength in the inner man (Eph. 3:16); being re-created

- Experiencing Christ dwelling in your heart (Eph 3:17)

- Being rooted and grounded in love (Eph. 3:17)

- Being able to comprehend the volume of Christ’s love (John 14:15, 21)

- Experiencing a full christian life (Eph 3:19b)

- Having divine-power working in you (Eph 3:20)

- Being sealed for redemption (Eph 4:30)

- Being able to preach the word with Holy-Spirit boldness (Acts 4:31)

- Having true knowledge of the heart (Jer 17:9, Acts 15:8)

- Having repentance leading unto salvation (Acts 5:31)

- Being able to obey Christ (1 Pet. 1:2)

- Being able to believe in Christ (Acts 15:7-9)

- Having obedience to the faith (1 Pet. 2:7, 8)

- The preaching of Christ is meaningful instead of a stumbling stone and an offence (1 Pet 2:8; Matt 21:42)

- The preaching of Christ is not foolishness (1 Cor. 1:18)

- Escaping the possession of the world’s spirit (1 Cor. 2:12)

- Having the teachings of righteousness (1 Cor. 2:13)

- Knowing the deeper things of God (1 Cor. 2:10), and experiencing spiritual light

- Being able to discern the things which God has prepared afore-time (1 Cor. 2:9)

- Having the Comforter ever abiding with you (John 14:16)

- Having the Spirit of truth (John 14:17)

- Having Jesus coming into your heart (John 14:18; Rev. 3:20)

- Having Jesus’ presence with you (John 14:18, Matt 28:20)

- Having love for God, and having the Father & Son abiding in you (John 14:23)

- Having the Comforter's help (John 14:26; 15:26)

- Having the peace and comfort of Christ in the soul (John 14:27)

- Being convicted of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8)

- Having righteousness, genuine peace, and real joy (Rom 14:17)

- Being able to deliver spiritual food and water to others (Jd 12)

- Being able to walk in God's statutes and keep His judgments (Ez. 36:27)

- Experiencing spiritual revival and a new life in Christ (2 Cor. 3:6, Ez 37)

- Being able to receive prophecy from God instead of man (2 Pet 1:21)

- Having the law of life written in the heart (2 Cor. 3:3, Heb 8:10; 10:16)

- Having the spirit of liberty and being able to unveil the heart (2 Cor. 3:17)

- Being able to be changed and renewed into the image of God (2 Cor. 3:18, Co. 3:10)

- Being able to submit to the Lordship & total ownership of Jesus (1 Cor. 12:3)

- Experiencing the blessings of heavenly gifts (1 Cor. 12:7)

- Having the knowledge that the Son pleases the Father (Matt 3:16, 17; Heb. 6:6)

- Having the knowledge that the life & ministry of Christ was perfect for my salvation (Isa 11:1-4; 61:1-4)

- Having the sprinkling of blood applied to our life as sinners (1 Pet 1:2)

- Being able to overcome the dragon (Rev 12:11), and the world (1 John 5:4)

- Being able to partake of the divine nature (1 Pet 2:4)

- Being able to apply Christ’s ministry to our life as a “Christian”

- Having the knowledge that Christ was able to keep His promise (Jn 7:37-39)

- Having gifts given to the church (1 Cor. 12:8-11)

- Experiencing ‘righteousness by faith’ (Gal 5:5, 6)

- Being sought for and brought back into the fold when necessary (2 Chr. 16:9)

So much to be thankful for! What can we do to show our gratitude to God for His very gracious gift of the Holy Spirit?
