Members phkrause Posted November 20, 2013 Members Posted November 20, 2013 With offerings that range from the most abysmal record for on-time flights to the worst amenities and longest security lines, these awful airports are the ones to avoid at all costs, especially during the holidays. http://www.smartertravel.com/photo-galle...d=601&all=1 Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Moderators Nan Posted November 21, 2013 Moderators Posted November 21, 2013 Interesting....in my limited experience of US airports - fewer than 10 - my motto is to avoid LAX, for entry or transit. For best airports, Changi Singapore rates way up there. Quote
Administrators Naomi Posted November 21, 2013 Administrators Posted November 21, 2013 In reviewing this 'review' I just said a prayer of thankfulness that I no longer have to deal with airports on a near-weekly basis. Have spent lots of lay-over time in Denver ... last year 9 hours! At least their seats can fold down to make an uncomfortable bed. IMHO the worst hands-down (in no particular order) is LAX, Atlanta, Midway, JFK, San Francisco. Some of the best Orange County (John Wayne),DFW, OKC & San Diego. Many of the smaller airports (if not on-time) at least add comfort and cheerfulness. To enter or e exit the US, I have found O'Hare and Houston user friendly. My worst international experiences have been in Charles de Gaulle, Frankfort, and Heathrow!!! Just my personal review LOL Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
Administrators Gail Posted November 21, 2013 Administrators Posted November 21, 2013 I wasn't too impressed with LAX, either. We had to walk from one terminal at the end of the airport to catch our connection at the other end. I was glad that the weather was good! Johann Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Amsterdam - too much walking and confusion Quote
ClubV12 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Narita, Japan. Longest lines I've ever encountered, and don't count on having a conversation with a local while you wait. :) Quote
Johann Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Toronto has a good airport except for one thing: All of the US Immigration officers checking you there on foreign soil before you enter a plane headed for USA. I prefer the officers who greet you when you arrive on US soil. Quote
