Only By the Spirit of Which it Was Given!

This thought in the quote of EGW that I am posting should and must be embedded in our hearts if we are to rightly come to the intended understanding of His Precious Word!

" God intends that even in this life the truths of His Word shall be ever unfolding to His people. There is only one way in which this knowledge can be obtained. We can attain to an understanding of God's Word only through the illumination of that Spirit by which the Word was given. "The things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God;" "for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God" (1 Corinthians 2:11, 10). {AG 199.3}

From God, the fountain of wisdom, proceeds all the knowledge that is of value to man, all that the intellect can grasp or retain. The fruit of the tree representing good and evil is not to be eagerly plucked because it is recommended by one who was once a bright angel in glory. He has said that if men eat thereof, they shall know good and evil; but let it alone. The true knowledge comes not from infidels or wicked men. The word of God is light and truth. The true light shines from Jesus Christ, who "lighteth every man that cometh into the world" (John 1:9). From the Holy Spirit proceeds divine knowledge. He knows what humanity needs to promote peace, happiness, and restfulness here in this world, and to secure eternal rest in the kingdom of God. {AG 199.4}

Never should the Bible be studied without prayer. Before opening its pages we should ask for the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit, and it will be given. . . . The Spirit of truth is the only effectual teacher of divine truth. {AG 199.5}

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

That is a very very important statement and fact to get registered in the mind heart and soul,

Should we have all these differences among us as to what His Holy Word states to us then?

Absolutely not, it reveals that not many do NOT have the illumination of that Spirit by which it was given!

Sorry to say that is just not among the pew sitters but is just as relevant as ones standing in the pulpits of Christendom. Mainly this is where most false teachings and errors are born!

Don't just sit there and not let that preacher know his errors and don't keep going back if he will not speak forth the straight testimony!

Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

We would be having wonderful Unity and Harmony among believers if "MANY" had the illumination of the Spirit by which the Word was given!

That is what I mean to say. Same difference it seems to me, which way ever it will register is the best.

What is negative about the truth anyway? Only I would say to ones not loving the truth.

Understanding comes by obedience. If any will do His will they shall know. So if we are obedient the Spirit will open the Bible to us.

I know a number of "fanatics", true fanatics not just a judgment call, who DO keep all the SOP, the commandments, the principles of Godliness. They keep all the statues as well. As it concerns the law, they are perfect!

And yet, they are deceived because they believe the Adventist Church is Babylon and they must come out. They are angry, they are threatening by saying if you don't believe as they you are lost. They have no peace, constantly worried about keeping the law in all regards and concerned for their own salvation.

"If any will do His will they shall know." They do His will "perfectly", what more then do they lack?

If it were the many then among us that had the illumination of the Spirit by which that Holy Word was given then many would definitely be in perfect Unity and Harmony. But that is extremely far from the case.

His word to us is not to be taken as we want to take it, but we are to desire with all the heart and soul, mind and Spirit to know what He is telling us.

Theologians are good at putting a twist on it and theorizing away what God is telling us by His Spirit of truth and so we need of no theologian or theology of any kind!

Let us all go to Him and surrender all that He will give to us His Spirit of truth,

Gibs, it's clear you don't believe Ellen White is an inspired prophetess. SO, why are you quoting her?

I am quoting her Club because of the truth she brings out here that the Same Spirit that the Word was given by MUST be had by the reader to illuminate the truth of that Holy Word to him and not some theorizing away of the truth of it by some slick well oiled theologian.

I am not admittedly a corporation SDA, but none in this world can keep me from being a true one in Spirit, of which I am and she was also.

Yes the number is growing in this world of those who keep the Seventh Day Sabbath and believe and know Jesus Christ is coming again and soon and are not of the structure of the corporate name of SDA's.

I hold EGW's writings as inspired of God and given by His Spirit and or angels. However as she has asked us, not to hold her writings over the Holy Word, I do not.

I find her writings the best in this world next to that Holy Word and you or no one else can deny me of them.
