Stan Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Is this outdated? does it included both men and women? PROVERBS 16:31 Do not be discouraged by your gray hair even when you are surrounded by a culture that values youth. Take pride in your years and refuse to be ashamed of your age. You have much to offer those aroundbyou, bestowing others with your wisdom. Stop plucking and dying your gray hairs! They are a gift from God, a crown of glory! Just saying' that's all Quote If you receive benefit to being here please help out with expenses. https://www.paypal.me/clubadventist Administrator of a few websites like https://adventistdating.com
ClubV12 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 New proposed rules (by NAD) on biblical interpretation would point to this verse and suggest that it was a cultural issue. Considering the time, place and context this counsel would not be applicable to our more enlightened and modern society. Now it seems to me the counsel is plain enough to not require an indepth analysis by a PhD using the latest modernized interpretive methods familiar with foreign languages and steeped in ancient history. Both men and women, by the way... So, you got anything on wearing purple? I like purple, when I am old, I shall wear it. :) Quote

LifeHiscost Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 That is a rather wordy translation. How would that compare to this. "Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained by living a godly life."Proverbs 16:31 NLT Your version does seem to confer greater respect, just for getting older. I could have used that when my son wanted to go to court to handle my affairs. God cares!/Jesus saves! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
