Christmas

Now that Thanksgiving is over, on to Christmas. When and where do you put your tree up? Real or fake tree?

We try to put ours up around the first of December, however, with three cats and two being very young kittens we are debating whether or not to even have a tree this year. Our trees are always fake and always go in the living room.

So what about everyone else?

P.S. if you do not "do" Christmas or trees please don't be a downer on my thread. This is just meant to be fun and to get into the Spirit of things.

I hate dragging the fake tree out of the basement! Fresh ones cost toooooo much. I leave all the lights on the tree so just need to fix them. Our grown cat will still manage to knock one or two down every year and break. She lives under the tree when it is up.

I put off getting it up until the g-kids make me!!!

It's always a fake tree in our home. But with both kids getting older, it's not so important. In fact, last year my daughter bought one of those Charlie Brown Christmas trees from Walgreens. She put it on our dining room table and said, "Voila! I bring to you, Christmas!"

This is the first year in a long time (maybe 10 years or so) that I really feel like celebrating Christmas. It's also the first year we won't have much $$ to go around. Home-made crafts and a little imagination may rule the gift giving!

We also try to put up the tree right after Thanksgiving. Usually the day after, Friday, or around the first of December. We used to go cut our own when our daughter lived with us, but when she moved out we got a fake tree. The first one was a half tree that hung on the wall, but we left it down in Florida, so we got another tree last year. We put it up in the livingroom part of the apartment.
