Ways to be a frustrated user on Club Adventist..

There are many ways to be a frustrated user, I will mention some and others can add their own..

1: Expect others to always go along with new thoughts you have re the Bible

2: Try to change the behavior of others by telling them off

3: Make strong political statements and expect others to agree

4: Try to correct someone else's political viewpoints

5; Not understanding that others are not in the same stage you are in your Christian Experience

6: Not understanding that we, including you, can and should continue to grow in your Christian Experience

7: Bring up the same old tired arguments re Ellen White or the Fundamental Beliefs

8: Condemn others for their past experiences or even current ones

9: Hot topics, abortion, homosexuallity and similar things that have to do with "other people's problems'

Ways of getting a blessing

1; Share stories of how God has worked in your life

2; Encourage the discouraged

3: Make friends with isolated adventists on here.

4; Earnestly pray for the discouraged and those hurting

5; Share a poem

6: Share thoughts and other sayings that your Grandmother taught.

7; Invite your friends to join.

8: Share a good clean joke

9: Support your Church leaders..

Another way to be frustrated is to find out that there are users here that post under several different names; to find out that others believe you are nothing more than another persona; to realize that there is none here you can trust.

...and yet another (this is not a follow-on from yours, Chrys) is to assume the worst possible interpretation of what someone posts. I've definitely been guilty of this one myself, and I'd like to think I'm past it, but I'll probably do it again. If a post frustrates you, it's probably well worth reading it over again, carefully, and thinking "Is there a more benign way to read this than the way I'm assuming it's meant?" Either always assuming the best possible interpretation, or at least being willing to ask for clarification, politely, on the board or by PM, just makes sense.

One of the problems with people is that...

When we have had conflict in the past, we re-see (how is that for a new word) all of that when we views someone's new post.

Just like in real live, small things make us go crazy as we recall all the bigger things..

In addition, just in like in real life, small things can make us go crazy if we tend to add up all the other small things so that they become a big thing.

It is hard to have someone who is a Character but not a real person, without taking away from the possibilies and benefits of a character..

A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. I become frustrated when a person who is an authority on everything makes statements on any subject { when he, she, it, } has minimal, often one-sided, knowledge of the subject.

Religion & politics are a receipt for disaster!

I do attempt to put most of the potentially "hot potatoes" on ignore ASAP and choose my battles.

One would think that this is what one would find on a Christian Forum. <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/seenoevil.gif" alt="" />

It appears that as humans we prefer to argue over things that have a bearing on our earthly life and/or over interpretation of "the letter of the law." Giving our focus and energies to things which will never be what gets anyone a ticket to pass through the pearly gates.

I've often wondered why it is easier to fight & argue over a dot or a crossed "T" than share something uplifting? Are we fearful that people will think we love the Lord more than we love man's insignificant issues?
