Presidents-Heads of State

[ClubV12]

All the BIG dogs of world leadership gathering in South Africa for Mandella funeral.

How about that security? In Africa no less, this could end up being one of the biggest disasters the world has seen yet. Could get real ugly.

or it could just be OK

As I roughly count it, about 50 or 60 Presidents, Prime Ministers, Royalty, etc. from around the world will be attending. Man this is a BIG deal. I cannot recall in my lifetime seeing such a turnout of heads of States from around the world. Four USA Presidents among them.

Each with their own heavily armed security detail and entourage. Whew, I had no idea Mandella was so well respected world wide.

There is not enough "lead time" for the radicals to pull off anything noteworthy, I suspect. But if they did, dirty bomb or the like, what a global disaster.

I had no idea Mandella was so well respected world wide.

Yes he was, even by those that were his enemies.

What event in your lifetime do you recall drawing this many world heads of States together?

Not even JFK drew this many. But for ANY event, not just a funeral. In fact, even including the U.N. I don't think you would see this many heads of States gathered in one place. They send ambassadors, or Vice Presidents or other representatives of some kind to such meetings.
