ClubV12 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I was holding out for that young woman and her twerking thing.... NOT!! I was appalled she was even in the running. Still, tough call, her or the Pope??? Times short list selection noted Cyrus was an example of the way we live today. Whoa, have we fallen that far America? No wonder the Pope is gaining traction! Administrators Gail Posted December 11, 2013 Administrators Posted December 11, 2013 In the time of the Caesars there were better ones than others in the sense that there were ones that were more tolerant of the Christians. It is reasonable to expect a pope or two to be less tyrannical toward those who are non-compliant with their side. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Textus Receptus Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 Gail, this is true. However, anyone with just the most rudimentory education of the Jesuits will know that when a Jesuit means Christians, they only mean Catholics. Moreover, I don't believe that using a Caeser comparison is accurate. Scriptures note that there was a "falling away" (2 Thess 2:3)which we be believe to be the Caeser authority. Granted, the papal system did absorb the temporal powers of the Caesars, yet, its spiritual Christian authority was new to the world in that the papal system now has the means of directing the spiriual, and the temporal power to execute this authority in a Christian facade. It is the conjuction of both systems which is the First Beast of Rev. It boils down to one question, why was a Jesuit called to be Pope, and to what end? Simplest answer would be the Counter reformation. Looks like it's working. We will never know whether it was the spirit of Lucifer, or whether the election of a Jesuit was orchestrated by the Jesuit Order to motivate the Conclave to elect a Jesuit, but what one thing is certain, we are living in a different time than before his election. That said, God is in control. Quote

I have a couple of friends who are priests from the Jesuit order and they do not believe that. EGW gives some good advice: This message must be given, but while it must be given, we should be careful not to thrust and crowd and condemn those who have not the light that we have. We should not go out of our way to make hard thrusts at the Catholics. Among the Catholics there are many who are most conscientious Christians, and who walk in all the light that shines upon them, and God will work in their behalf.--Testimonies, vol. 9, p. 243. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence. Einstein

Textus Receptus Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 Great advice from EGW! However, using logic, it is fair to say that this Man is no ordinary priest - he is the Pope. Secondly, this man must not have been just an ordinary Jesuit - a Jesuit who for some reason or another became the Pope; a remarkable feat in itself in that the Jesuits and the Holy See do not have an amicable history. As such, it is not out of the realm of possibilities that this man is not just some ill-informed servant of God that has not had an opportunity to be shown the light to see through the darkenss, but maybe, just maybe a Jesuit with an agenda of uniting the world around the Catholic church as scripture clearly notes. People can rationalize away all of the evidence, but we have a sure word in prophesy. Even if we set aside Jesuitical politics, the historical evidence and the reason for the Jesuit's sole purpose of installing the papacy as the head of the world, doesn't it bother anyone that this man is able to hood-wink millions into thinking that the Catholic Church is not the boogie-man?
